People have to realize that items from England are just pricier, period! Not only in the car arena but with other products as well. If the same mods were done by Ralliart and they were based out of the US somewhere the price would be much different. The different ecconomies of both countries dictates the prices.

and the strength of the dollar vs. the pound sterling makes the prices look steeper (if you already didnt assume that when you spoke of the economies in your statement)

Not so much the economies, its the taxation rate and structure and also the Unions at work. If you look at the build of the car, the material cost is relatively lower than the cost of labor to put it together.

ya and also the dollar is very weak right now.

I'd starting investing in China soon if you want the next power house. U.S is on a slow decline. :D

None of the US cars have the ACD & AYC, so we'll always be a step down...hence, less money!
Not to mention the exchange rates....the dollar is pretty weak at the moment.

The prices over here would definitely not be anywhere close to what the exchange rates suggest. Typically, the US$ price is between 1.15 to 1.3 times the quoted price in pounds. That is, if the pound price is 28,000 then the US$ price would be between $32,200 and $36,400. This is due to a 17 % VAT (value added tax), and a bunch of other taxes and fees. Plus, the UK auto market is pretty uncompetitive and have higher built in margins than over here.

The FQ280 no longer exist. WHP suggest that the FQ300 is probably the equivalent to our 2005 EVO VIII MR.

Uh, we've been getting ACD here since the beginning of the 2005 model year. AYC will NOT FIT with the larger 14 gallon U.S.-spec fuel tank and our evaporative emissions.

I would consider that all part of an economy, but I use the word loosely.
