Rob makes it look so easy.

1. Remove valve cover.
2. Verify cams have the HKS logo.
3. Replace valve cover.
4. Charge Renzo an inflated fee.

(if only it were that easy)

Hey Renzo, why didnt you get a pick of Rob trying to deal with the cam gears while changing the cams? That is the biggest bitch of the whole install.

instead of posting all of those pics , you should of taken the time to write-up a "How to install cams" guide by watching what rob did, IMO that would help alot more.

Don't you just zip tie the cam gears to the belt, then string them up to the hood with a coat hanger to hold them in place?

(I haven't done cams on an evo yet)

Yea but one mistake and the belt belt slips a tooth and all of a sudden it turns into a timing belt job which takes 3 times longer. Its easy but Ive seen people mess it up. Sometimes shit just happens.

Thanks for the heads up.

I planned on using 8 fat zip ties and marking the belt before I removed seperated the gears. I'd imagine that would be enough, but you're very correct in that:

Most often the belt slips on the crank gear where it cant be zip tied so be really careful. Lots of tension.
