It only ends on new car purchases after March 31st. Prior purchases under the FSM program continue to get the free stuff.

It is an expensive program on Evos....with synthetic oil, more frequent changes and rotations, and 4 years/45,000 miles vs 3yr/36,000 on non Evos, it's a big expense on a car that does not need much incentive to sell.

eeeek, is this being dropped for ever ? ie. no free maint on the Evo IX ?

I was waiting for the IX, but I gotta say, this is going to be a deal breaker for me :-( for now anyway.

Guys do the math:

Mitsu struggling to sell cars + free maintenance for an expensive car = needs a LOT of money. Heck we’re even lucky they offered the free scheduled maintenance in the first place.

Now for those who were using this as a deal maker – think about it for a moment. Maybe the Evo is not the car for you if you cant afford to maintain it regularly. Heck I spend about 20 bucks every week on cleaning the car alone, not including fuel and other items. The FSM was an enticing offer and is certainly worth it, but I don’t see it staying long as it is normally a consumer item that isn’t supposed to be shouldered by the dealer – a kind gesture for Mitsubishi’s part if you think about it.

That said, if you cant afford to pay for the maintenance, it definitely isn’t the car for you.

so how much do ppl think the FSM is really worth for an Evo 8... $1000 ? $2000 ? more ?

in effect, mitsu just raised the cost of the Evos by that much, so I wonder if there would be more ppl put off if this was reflected in the sticker price...

anyway, it's not about not being able to afford it, more to do with limiting expences during the first few years.
