Its superturbo charged. I've seen an STi with a similar setup. The supercharger pulls untill the turbo spools and then takes over. Torque monsters... This STi I saw could run with Mustang Cobra R's equipped with T67 turbo's, sick.

wow, that would be pretty fast. the supercharger looks like it was made out of electrical tape though

The guy said the blower was taped to keep it from getting scratched while work on the car completed. I would like to see a plumbing diagram of that thing, being as the blower is ont he exhaust side of the motor.

I'm just wondering about heat issues with having the S/C directly on top of the exhaust manifold...

Looks a little extreme. If he wanted that kind of streetable power he should have bought a different car. Im all for building cars and going the extra mile but that is a little much.

I think the term used for this is twin charging, and if it is tuned properly, it will be a monster. There was some talk back in the day of the Honda guys doing this type of setup if I remember correctly. I would love to see if this works.

That is nuts!

i too would like to see the piping diagram. Perhaps the blower is to cool off the exhaust manifold? heheh

Maybe he's got a super duper heat shield. Plus isn't that SC kinda big? That looks like a 600WHP+ SC you would see on a vette or a cobra. Talk about parasitic power loss.

waste of money, time, and gas imo.

yes twincharging is the correct term i dont think i ever saw a honda do it but the old MR2s not the SW20s but the old supercharged MR2s used to throw turbos onto the exhaust side and run both.

twincharging was common on WWII planes....what I would love is a twincharge system in which the supercharger would disengage at 3k rpm via an electromagnetic clutch (like the Mercedes suprcharger) then let the turbo do its thing above 3k rpm :)
