View Full Version : Roughly $600.00 to spend on tires ...

Hi everyone - My tires are shot .. I have roughly $600.00 to spend on tires ... I'd probably be using them more for daily driving with 1-2 times a week delivering Tofu ...

I was wondering what yall would suggest .. Buy some 80% thread used Advans to last me another 6-10 months .... or just buy tires altogether and sacrifice some grip ofr more treadware ...

I drive 100 miles a day just for work - so add the tofu and other little places and things I do (meets and what not) and the miles add up ... I have 22k on the stockers  and I can spin my tires in the rain with ease (not recommended) ...

I was interested in the BFG KD's\Toyo T1-S's but I dont think they would fit in my budget of $600.00.

Other tires I had an interest in within/around my budget were the Avon M550's, BFG KDW's Kuhmo Escta MX's and the Kumho Supra 712's ...

Recommendations? I only have roughly $600.00 because I am a gh3tto bastard  Thanks in advance!

Check for Falken Azenis, too. I heard they're really good. You might be able to find T-1S Toyos in your budget. I got 245/40/18 T-1S from Adam @ z1auto.com for under $200 each.

Actually I was CONSIDERING the Falken Azenis perhaps the 471's but hear that they are horrible in the wet ... Seeing that summer is comming up and the $$$ I'd save though I can probably get them for very cheap and have $$$ left over lol ...

Oh btw- I need the tires to fit on the stock enkies. 235-45-17 .. or wider if I could but my car is dropped an inch on Espelir ASD's ...

Thanks Chris - might look into them again ..

I'm in the market for some new rubber too. I want to get another set of rims with a hard rubber compound for the daily driving, then get some hoosiers to put on the Enkies for the track. Kuhmo Escta have served me well in the past for a long lasting street tire. Not bad for around $100 each.

$137 for Toyo T1-S 235 45 17 here https://www.tiresavings.com/

$157 each shipped or $630 for all 4

Best Deal on Internet. Express tire charges $9.50 to install/mount each tire. If you call them they will charge you $190 each for the same wheels

My current T1-S have about 21K and I will replace them with 22K so not that bad wear since they are pretty sticky tires.

Thanks a lot for that Snoop - I would definatley go there if I deceide to go for the T1-S! Thats an awesome price with all the price shopping I've been doin!

Btw - there are like 4 diffy kinds of azenis lol ..

RT115's, 215's, 471s and 615's (I think) The new 615's are mad expensive I might as well buy new Advans. Anyone have experience with any of these? How many miles would they last? I can probably save a pretty penny getting Azenis - even though they are mad heavy - and just save up for some more dedicated all season tires ..

i know a lot of people that swear by the falken azenis rt215 in a 245/45/17. though this tire is discontinued, there are many places that have it in stock and would gladly get rid of it. so i think that would be a size to follow.

I just got a set of Kumho Ecsta MX's. 245/40/18. been driving on them for about a week. So far they've been pretty good, definitly not Advans but grip pretty good. ride is a little smoother. For the money I cant complain. And they are a hell of a lot better than the supra 712. I paid 650 shipped from tire rack. so it should be cheaper I imagine for 17's. Hope this helps

that tire sucks in that size, you need a 235 to do that tire justice on our wheels.

Yeah its like 90 bucks but I cant seem to source a place out for the life of me lol ... Damn discontinued tires ... What sucks is I work from 8-6 everyday so most everything is closed! Besides sears which charges an arm and a leg ... *ugh*

Awesome I got a Costco card too - Does this work only online or @ the locations too?

So for the BFG KDW's is that 150.99 x 4=603.96 + Tax (49.83)=$653.78

-$60.00 = $593.79?

That fits my budget if thats the case! But its about 2+weeks away hmmmm ... Wonder if my tires would last that long ... Thanks for the info!

Tell me about it lol - I get scared driving to work and back ...

Discount tire has the ST115' and Ziex 512's @ 103-105.00 each right now ... It'll take em 1-4 days to get them but I think thats a fairly decent price.

I suppose the Ziex 512's are better? Anyone try the 512's with good results? :?

Avon M500's....I have no regrets with them, I will buy them again.

Great treadware for me so far, great dry grip, excellent in the rain.

nobody else is running them on socalevo, so dont expect to find favorable results of these.

Check evom, a few other people have them & really like them.

I paid ~560, out the door from america's tire. Tell them tire rack has them for their price, they will match it.

I have put ~4k miles on mine, minimal wear, much quieter in ride, slightly softer in ride than advans, but not by much.

Falkens are going to wear out quick.

You wont be disappointed with the Avon M500's.

Good luck

when my advans wore out i threw on the falken azenis sports and let me be the first to tell you that all the other tires on the market are good but will ALL sacrifice grip and handling performance unless you get bf goodrich kd's, toyo ra-1's , or advans again.

another great tire ive been hearing about that has much more tread life then the three tires mentioned above is the Michelin PS2 Pilot sport.

anything else and YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED. spend 150 to 200 more dollars and stay happy with that crisp turn-in our evo's love to give. :D :D :D :D :D

Yeah I understand what your saying ... From all the research i've been doing I wish I could afford to front 800-1000 for some higher performance tires ... but its not looking that good LOL .. especially with the 0.5% thread I have left on my tires lol ..

My budget only allows so much keke ... thanks for your input!

I believe the 550's are an all season high perf. tire, to where the 500 is a summer tire & we live in so cal! The 500 tread pattern looked more robust for dry weather punishment!

During the rains that we had earlier this year, I was concerned about how well they would handle wet roads. Let me tell you, these tires performed way better than I expected in the rain.

Dry grip is really good too.

BTW, you can perform a standard tire rotation with these tires, vs. keeping the left's on the lefts like 95% of all UHP tires!!!

The factory alignment killed my tires.
