i changed my oil today and later had a dipstick blow out and spray oil under the hood. Ok no prob. i read on some threads that this is common for evo's when there is too much oil added alright problem solved. But now there is a ticking noise coming from what sounds like under the valve cover or the intake manifold/ injectors... funny thing is it makes the sound at half the speed of the engine making me think it has to do with the valvetrain and or cams ? car runs fine no lack of boost or rpm but the ticking sound still is there... :( :?: :(

Use a wire to tie down your dipstick...

Check to ensure that your oil level is not too low now. When the engine is low on oil, you will hear a ticking noise from the valve cover. This is from lack of lubrication.

You can aslo crimp the the reciever just slightly so the dipstick wont blow. Much cleaner than using a wire.

i think i might crimp the reciver i'm not to big on zip ties for my engine and i was thinking about picking up an oil pressure gauge also, for future refrence at least.
