Got my '05 Evo about 3 months ago. Everything is great, the motor has broken in nicely (already at 1900 mi).

My only complaint is with regard to the brakes sqeaking. Its a temperamental problem, that only happens under 10mph when coming to a stop. It seems to happen more often when someone is in the passanger seat (as opposed to when I'm by myself it hardly ever happens).

How do I fix? whats the cause? Its already not as prevalent as it used to be, but still annoying enough. Its only coming from the fronts.

Probably needs more grease.

Its perfectly normal.........you can find super crappy pads that have no dust, no noise, but you will surely give up stopping power.

Anything equal or better then the stock pads will squeal just as much or even louder.

Your driving an evo. Live with it

I have been living with it, without much frustration. I thought with a few heavy brake applications it would make it go away entirely, and it does seem to help a little as its now less frequent.

No worries otherwise, they stop the car great. I'm taking a beginners autocross class in mid-July, I'm anxious to really try them out then.

if you put oil on the rotors isn't it not going to stop the car?
can i put cooking oil? after a few big stops i can cook some eggs on there

anyhow... i have no squeaky sounds on the brakes anymore.. it happened during first few months when i bought the car.. maybe it needs more break in periods

thats cool and all but the noise that ive heard newer evos (05)making when braking sounds like the wear indicators rubbing on the rotors and there is plenty of pad left.my evo (03) doesnt make those noises not under hard or soft braking but the steering wheel does vibrate under soft breaking from high speed.
