do you want to smoke out the chrome area which involves taking apart your tailights or just do a spray/paint job over the clear lens?

Another option is to check out www.lamin-x.com and order some 3M Sticky tint film. Prices are great and they can even custom cut pieces to what whatever length and width you want. Then again, if you still want to see the circles in the tail light, this will totally black it out.

This just darkens the clear outer lens. I believe he wants to keep the clear outer lens clear, and paint the inner chrome black as in my sig below.

I'm just finishing doing this mod to my headlights and let me tell you this...
Have someone with experience do this! It's a pain in the ass, you need special tools and lots of patience. The tail lights can get cracked if you are not very very careful.
