can anyone list the causes for a p0300 code?

That causes can be somewhat debatible.
A sticky would have been good 2 years ago.
I don't know if it's necessary now.
Officially it was caused by an over sensitive cam position sensor.
What contributes to setting it off could be any number of things.
* Get the Mitsu Reflash before checking any of these.
1. 1 bad or mis-gapped plug.
2. (for me) Running a VTA BOV set my off
3. (Alvin) Dead/low compression in a piston
4.

thanks for the quick response blaze...
reasoning for me asking is that my car seems to be throwing this code now... i changed the plugs... i have an 04... so my car is not elidgable for the reflash i think... and my BOV is recirced... i'm at a loss right now
split this and make a new thread for me... ;)

Alvin's problem was a dead piston.
(though I doubt you want to hear THAT)
