Once again, I'm hoping to get some EVOs to come out to the Big Track at Willow Springs Int'l Raceway for some high speed fun.* I have run with this group before (but I'm not the organizer), and you get lots of track time, an all you can eat lunch and a T-shirt, all for $145 (or $150 if you use PayPal).* Organization is good but laid back.* Classroom session for beginners.* Hope to see you out there on Wed., Dec. 14.* O0

Go to the "Events" section to sign up at this linky: http://www.americancarracing.com/events.html

Damn you Richard? :tickedoff:

Why so close to Christmas? I know you're not the organizer, but I really want to try the big track and so this close to the holidays, I need to focus my finances elsewhere. I did leave a subtle hint with Mrs. Wav that for Christmas I want some track time. Maybe she and the kids will suprise me... but I doubt it. :'(

Hi Richard,

Great track event.

Was there on the 14th was great passing on turn 8 on the inside a GT3 and a 996 TT and kept them behind me on the strate way with my white evo and at the end of the session one of them came to me and He was complaining that wasn't supose to pass him on turn 8 and that I didn't let him pass me on the strate way, what a cry baby.

Anyway on the Dec 14th I am bringing my 540WHP I can play the horse power game too.

See you all there.

Jake -

Sounds like fun -- passing crybabies in $120,000 Porsches.* :2funny:

I missed that event because HB Mitsu was busy rebuilding my gearbox on warranty. All things considered, that was right nice of them. :2funny:

See you at Big Willow on Dec. 16.* :D

Richard,
I will try to make it and hope to Jake there also. Jake thanks again for all the advise with my Evo. Robert Fuller will be working on my suspension on Dec. 11th. If all is well I will see you there.

Good choice. Are you doing the springs, bushings, sway-bar?

See you the 14th

Jake -

Yeah, you can't drive two EVOs at the same time anyway. I'll be at Thunderhill Dec. 10 - 12. See you and the red machine at Big Willow on Dec. 14. I'm also running Streets on Dec. 16. :D

This event is tomorrow.* If you haven't already registered, you can just show up at Big Willow at 7:00 a.m. on Dec. 14 with $145 cash and the event forms, as there is plenty of space left.* Get the 3 forms (registration, tech, and release) at www.americancarracing.com

I talked to Justin at Road Race Chassis and he said "we will be there," so I am taking the liberty of adding Kent and John's names to the list.

We will be their attempting to run the fastest laps ever in an Evo at Willow Springs.

Also we will run some laps in my commuter Evo for comic relief:-)

Kent went home because his trans was having issues. Not sure about the other guys but they left early also, no fire works from the big guns.

It was a great time. This track is such a BLAST! Can't imagine wanting to drive streets. I like the speed that goes with this. I think ya all should man up and try it. Have never drove the streets but was a passenger with Robi all in all for me Big Willow KICKS MUCH ASS!!! :knuppel2:

For those of you going to the event on the 16th it was fuggin cold this morning and I doubt it will be much better by then. Bring a jacket you will need it in the morning. This is comming from someone who is used to this area also words to the wise. :D

I had a great time today!! I'm uploading pictures and footage as I type this. Goku, you missed my 360! I have it captured on MP3 though, it's getting posted up too! I did keep it on the track and kept going without causing too much commotion.

i still like streets abit more its more of a technical track then speed. i find the trickiest part about big willow is just having the balls to take turn 9 as fast as u can.

Hey,

I wasn’t planning to go had a bad experience last time blow up a head gasket do to overheating engine. I thought the Stroked motor 2.4L can handle the extra abuse at streets.

Today at Willow was a big problem again my motor was shutting down every few laps
Hope I can fix it by Friday.

Hi Richard if my car is fixed let me know if I can just show up on Friday or if you can give me a number to call to make sure that’s ok.

Big Willow 12/14 was a great event for me.* I got over 3 hours of track time, had a blast, and no problems.* Not so good for Jake (see his post above). Kent had a day-ending mechanical problem in the middle of his second run session.* John and the RRC team stayed a while longer but left around lunchtime.

In his short morning, Kent ran a 1:29 (that's fast at Big Willow for sure) in the EVO race car, and John ran a 1:31 in his "street" EVO.* I didn't do nearly as well, but at least broke my personal best by a fraction of a second.

Jake - I will send you a PM re: Dec. 16.

i rather do other track like BW.. im not ready for Big willow, not at this time....
love streets and have tried other tracks before, like T-hill and BW conf #13 CCW... there fun but i find streets to be similar to a tofu run, but with out any worries..

I absolutely agree!

The fun factor of the Big Track is atleast double that of Streets.

I wanted to go, but I couldn't get the day off.
