Does anyone have hks turbo timer type 1? i was going to install mine this weekend. I wanted to know if the wire splicing is neccessary. I have the Plug in play harness, and was wondering if just install that and ground the wire if it would still work without hooking up the e-brake and rpm attatchments. Would it still work?

you need the e-brake.. you don't need the rpm attachments... you just wont be able to use all the features

what does his alarm have to do w/ it?
and to have an alarm work in junction w/ an aftermarket alarm... a relay could be made
Why did you get a Type 1 if you will not use all the features? You might as well have just gotten the Type 0.

There's a bolt conveniently placed directly right of the steering column.

Hey all, just got this HKS Type 1 and installed it on my EVO IX, only problem is the RPM read out. When the car idles, it read 580-590 on the timer. I also tried the "Learn Mode" and even when I set it at 2000 RPM, it still idles at 580-590 while on the odometer it's almost at 1000. Any solutions? :-\
