I rolled into the pits around 7 AM and parked next to Richard, Kent Jordan's home on wheels, and the Muellerized team. Mike W made an appearance too, but was not there long. After the drivers meeting we finally got a chance to put the rubber down to the ground.

Just waiting for the flagman to give me the OK:

This is a very fast track. 2 1/2 miles with a 1/2 mile straight away. This picture was in turn 3-4 at around 80mph:

Most of the day was good old fashioned playing hard with M3's and vettes:

Part of the day was cruising with a with an Infinity and MBZ:

Goku, this guy in the vette waived me by!* O0 He didn't want to, but I stayed on his ass through the corners for 3 laps untill I had beat him into submission.

Below is a 3 lap ride before Mrs. Wav wanted out of the car. She was saying something about exhaust fumes?

Had the front row view got my attention for sure! No blood no foul!

Glad it was nothing more than a spin. Great recovery job BTW!

HAHA at least you said it :2funny:

You should try to make it out to one of those when yours is back on the road.

Great learning experience and not a much of a chance of any bad damage for sure. Guess I never pushed it far enough as I never went off!

Saw a C6 Vette spin off a lot worse than his when I was riding with Richard.

Fool was trying to keep pace with a high dollar Porsche not a chance!

The guy in the vette is a moron. Thers no way he should have waited 3 laps to waive you by if you were on his ass the whole time. I would have had some words with him, arrogant assholes.

Here is some footage my wife shot going through turn 4 at the budwieser balcony. If you pause the player, you can catch me on two wheels everytime. Also please note that on every lap, I pass at least one more car.

I dunno. I didn't have a transponder. I did better than some, slower than others. However I did pass a vette, a couple of* STis, couple of 05 mustangs, G35, M3, and other stuff I don't remember. There was a guy named Jake (Evo8supercar) with a 540WHP Evo that gave props to me by telling Mrs Wav that I was a really good driver. I stayed with him up until the straight away where the brute HP kicked my ass. Then it was back into a late apex or two and poof! I was all over his ass like Billy on ice cream.

Wav, how fast were you going on turn 8 and 9? I was going 105-110mph, but it was on stock suspension with only a rear sway bar set in the middle. It was scary but fun. I hope I get a chance to go again next year.

Nice videos, btw. I wish you had a closer shot of your spinout. Must have freaked you out. I know I was scared when I spunout at Streets.

Were you in the GG MR bogey8 ? I was going into 8 over 100, between 8 & 9 was around 111 hitting the apex of 9 around 83. At the end of the long straight I was doing 132-133 before stomping on the binders. I have sway bar and bushings alligned by Mueller. I really want the full Muellerized setup, I'm hoping maybe next year. Actually after having that STi pull on me in the straights, I want more power too.

Forgot to mention, the best part of the day was the last hour. It was open to all groups and at 4:30 on the last lap, there were only 3 cars left on the track. Mine, Richards and Jake's 540WHP 2.4 liter screamer. All 3 Evos, all 3 older guys! I thought the young kids were supposed to have the stamina?

No, I wasn't there that day. I went in July. I had a lot of fun. Without the cams, I could only go 120 on the stretch before turn 1.

I was also testing a new brake setup back then, so I was over cautious.

looked like good times!
One of my buddies pointed out the timer in windows Media Player. He timed two of my laps at 1:51 and 1:48. Considering that Kent Jordens best time at the big track was a 1:29 in a fully modded race car, I think I did pretty good... for a rookie.

not too bad for an old man O0

my best time there was only 1:57 with no cams and mostly stock suspension. I hope I can run that track again next year.

Using the timer on Windows Media Player, I was able to time 6 of my laps. Using This Footage (http://wavmixer.com/evo/MOV01703.MPG) I timed myself from everytime I passed the Toyota logo on the wall. Here are my times:
Lap 1 - 1.54
Lap 2 - 1.52
Lap 3 - 1.44
Lap 4 - 1.47
Lap 5 - 1.56
Lap 6 - 1.54

WavMixer's best time = 1.44
Kent Jordan's best time* = 1.29

I'm only 15 seconds off of one of the fastest drivers, in one of the fastest Evos on this board. I have a*25mm sway bar and stock Advans w/ Dr Gray stage 1. Not too shabby if I say so myself.

Wav -

I agree that you are doing just fine for a newbie.* However, 15 seconds is an eternity, and I have to choke on the word "only" being used in the same sentence.* The next time you go to Big Willow, make your goal 1:41, and you will see how hard it is to reduce your lap time by 3 seconds.

In another thread, I said I would be happy being 10 seconds slower than Kent, but I didn't use the word "only."* *:2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

The whole reason I drove the big track was for the fun of it. I meet my goal there. I know with time I'll get faster and more consistent, but my car needs work too. Good track tires, more HP and better brakes would do wonders for my time. It all comes with time. What is your best time on the big track Richard?

Richard EVO
12-21-2005, 10:54 PM
1:41.10* *My goal for the Dec. 14 event was to get into the 1:39s, but I didn't come close*

In other words, my best time was 1.11 seconds slower than my goal which is a lot.

Good Job Wav,

Had some fun when my car wasn't shutting dawn 8 times for the whole day in the middle of the track, specially on the exit of turn 9 with a 911 TT behind me and my car died before the straight pretty scary feeling but the next session same place I timed the new 2006 ZO6 behind me and prayed for my car not to stall I smoked that new ZO6 big time, A EVO'S can play too the high horse power game at the straightway L.O.L Anyway next time I hope to have my new suspension or at list more cumber with the stock setup.
