I agree to that. Even though its alot of fun. There is another rally even happening in Santa Monica www.smscc.org and its just like what you see in WRC. Almost. You and your team will get together and try to find the best way to reach the goal and to figure which way would lead to faster times. I heard that there might not be a GCRallyX event next year. If they do have it, TombStone will no longer be one of the places the rally will take place. Well if anyone else knows more rally events coming up, post it.

gh0stch1ld, I dont quite 'get' the whole concept of those road rallys from what i've read.. I want to try one to find out, looks like theres one happening on January 6th but I'll be trying to make it out to a track day on saturday at SOW so I'll most likely miss out on that one

Its similar to the night rally in Nevada couple months ago. You are given a map of the course you'll be rallying on. You will be going through forest, gravel, mud, etc. And there is more then one trail leading up to the finish point. Its up to you which trail you want to go. Before the rally, they will have a meeting on how you would be able to do this. There are couple of checkpoints where you can take a break and eat before its time to rally again. I'm not sure if this Santa Monica one is the same as the one Neveda. But from what I've read its similar.

15x6.5 enkei's with michelin rubber. the wheels are the holdup.

depends...every few months....i've seen a month in between to almost 4 months between events...

actually i'm going rallying tomorrow and maybe sat. But its up north, about 3 hour drive from OC. Its not an event, but will be an event there in February. Just going there and have some fun. Anyone interested let me know. Gonna wake up early tomorrow, call-in from work, tape up my car again, and RALLY.

nah i haven't tried any other tires yet. All i can say was THAT WAS SO FRIGGIN INTENSE. But highly recommend you not going to where we went. Gaurantee you'll scratch up the evo somehow unless you know every nook and cranny of that place. It was in Barstow. Pretty far drive but somewhat worth it. My tires worked really well on that gravel and dirt road surprisingly. But i want to get the pirelli rally tires next.

well scratching up my evo isnt too big of a deal for me. ive done plenty of backroad rallies around here. but yah, after i get out there, ill def be interested in participating in a few. are there actually any websites to check for rallyx or is it just more word of mouth?

www.speedoptions.com does updates and has the link on their site...just check for upcoming events, they probably have it listed. i posted about one a while back.
