What is the best intake tube setup for the evolution 8?
Or is there no improvement over the stock rubber hose?
I have an adapater and open element filter on there right now, but I want to replace the stock rubber hose if it makes a difference.
Samco makes a induction hose, so does buschur, APS, RMR, or any others?
Anyone have experience and know which pipe system is the best?

How about this:

I made it- 4" cold air and is stealth because it uses the stock air box... Seriously, I don't think that it makes a huge difference. I made mine mostly because of having a custom turbo kit and wanting to look stock + having a turbo with a 4" port shrouded inlet.

That looks pretty nuts
Have you heard anything about the APS system? It looks like the only "cold air" intake system made for the Evo8

do a drop in k&n filter...unless you really want to switch it up, hks and samco makes an intake hose. depends what you to do with it really. power, bling, etc...

drop in k&n filter, intake hose, a tune...given that you have the other supporting mods that make power...cams, tbe exhaust, boost controller, possibly turbo.

said he wouldnt reccomend the White Rabbit turbo upgrade as it doesnt work that well for the money.
he Suggested a GT3076R to get to a little under 400hp but I could only imagine the cost of that..

What does that have anything to do with which intake piping to go with?

It had to do with what J_Nizzel said "drop in k&n filter, intake hose, a tune...given that you have the other supporting mods that make power...cams, tbe exhaust, boost controller, possibly turbo."
But I after reading up on the White Rabbit, and asking many questions from experienced tuners, and knowing how popular it is on this board, I thought I would add that.
I am going with a Samco unit, see how it works...
