I had a drop in filter , EBC and a MR BOV.

This time I will have full TBE and HKS 272's but I wont be tuned so who knows what ill run. I ran the 1/8th a while ago and with cams and exhuast I ran a 7.8 @ 87 so I picked up some mph and cut my time down a little. After I get my aem ems installed and my front mount I should see bigger gains.

Ok! Whose were there? Check in. There were at least 3 IXs, 1 of them is stock as far as I know of. There were at least 8 VIIIs. I got only one run and it started raining otherwise I should be in the 11s (yeah right!). Anyway, thank to Tuning Technologies for the car's power, too bad they can't fix the driver . My time is:

That's a good MPH there indicating your car has good power O0. You may get mid 12s with more runs, usually the first run often not the best.

I got lucky and ran twice I was in the first group.

Run 1 the track was super cold and had no traction so I was sliding all over the place. Run 2 It was geting warmer but it was still a little slick and I was hoping to get another run in with a little more boost after the track warmed up.

Run 1
Quick spike to 20.5 settled to 19.5 psi and droping to 16-17psi by 7k rpm. 100 oct mixed with 91 oct
60' ... 2.040
330 ... 5.446
1/8 ... 8.242
MPH .... 84.75
1000 ..... 10.660
1/4 ..... 12.677
MPH ..... 112.22

Run 2
Same as above. This run was right after the first about a 15-20min cool down. I think this is why the mph didnt pick up over the other run.
60' ... 1.807
330 ... 5.156
1/8 .... 7.927
MPH .... 85.67
1000 .... 10.332
1/4 ...... 12.340
MPH ..... 112.71

I think the 100 oct mix hurt me rather then helped. My 1/8th mile times went up and my mph went down from last time out at perris on straight 91 oct. Now keep in mind I have nothing tuning my car NO AFC NO ECU FLASH NOTHING!
My Setup:

Boost controller
K & N drop in filter
IX BOV
Megan Racing TBE
HKS 272's

Everything else is stock.... no fuel pump, no injectors, no flash nothing!

I met alot of cool guys this time out and I will see you guys in 3 months >:( . Also for the guy that got me on video in the white IX can you post the video or email it to me please

Alll I can say is, you have one very powerful Evo. You are lucky.

kimletrim

I was there, and I was lucky to get one run...I think. G2- saw my run. I ran a 13.3 at 110 mph. I think my 60 ft was 2.1 sec which sucked for me since I am used to 1.8 times. But the reason for my lousy launch were my BFG KD summer tires. definitely not good in wet weather. In first and second gear, I was sliding all over the place. I almost hit the wall. But what impressed me was my new mph of 110 mph. Damn, I wanted more runs.

:-o
That's not a good idea.* I've logged an Evo with only 272 HKS cams, everything else was stock (intake, exhaust, fuel system) and it was getting to the lean side.

Which wideband were you using during the log and did you have a datalogger to check knock counts/voltage?

turbolarry knows what he is talking about. He has knowledge on tuning the SAFC and has the appropriate tools to use it, such as a pocketlogger and zietronix wideband.

Why, you think that running an untuned Evo with cams is a good idea? I think that most people would agree what in order for the car to run optimally with cams, you need it tuned. I don't think that you plan on running the cams without a tune for a long period of time.

But congrats on your time. Those are fast numbers. O0

RiversideMitsu
01-16-2006, 11:39 AM
No one said its a good idea or that I recommend doing it. I will soon have Aem ems and my front mount with a fresh tune. I doubt im leaning out that much. Back when I ran 550's and a walbro 190lph in my gsx I never got close to maxing the injectors out @ 19.5 psi or maxing the pump out. Dsmlink and a wideband showed that I had plunty of injector left even at a 11.4-11.5 afr. Only reason to even run bigger injectors at my power level is to get inj duty cycle down to get some more timing out of the stock computer. I know a few that have run 11's on the stock injectors but not a stock pump. I have and will continue to beat on my car with my current setup on 19.5psi. I wouldnt mind geting someone with a logger to go for a ride and see whats really going own with knock counts/voltage. Everyone knows mitsu puts a pretty big cussion of fuel on the evo's and with just cams and nothing else Its hard for me to understand how the car leaned out.
