I hope it's not a stupid topic about the evo but i am from Europe and I want to buy an Evo 9 and it would be nice to know what to expect from the car in terms of fuel consumption - THE REAL ONE. So can anybody tell me the average milleage for city and highway. Thank you.

+1

My stock IX gets 18 mpg per tank driving in stop and go traffic only, but I get about 21ish when I do only freeway miles.

I get an average of 24/gallon.
Included in my mods are cams, injectors, fuel pump.
(Rumor has it: I drive like a bitch (if I drive it at all))
:2funny:

Expect to get what the manufacturer states you'll get.
But expect much less once you get on the accellerator.

my 04 (mods in sig) gets about 14-15 in town and 18-19 highway usually. but if i try and be very nice to her, i've gotten 25 on a long trip only on the highway stayin at around 75-80mph and out of boost.

at the track... hahaha stock i got 5.4 mpg  and after the flash and upgrades i think it went up to 7.6 mpg.

so if i usually drive fast...like in boost all the time...and i shift at a minimum of 4000 rpms...and stops and starts?
What will i get?
10-11 m/gallon?

ovenmit331

if you only hit 4000rpms and never more, you'll probably get 17-18 mpg since boost doesn't really come on until 32-3500 rpms...

So .....after the flash the fuel consumption was lower??You didn't do anything else? Where did you flashed it?

flash does provide better MPG.... i got mine flashed at WORKSEVO.com and got aroudn 27-28mpg freeway.

You're from europe so i believe it's going to be a little bit different coz US version Evos doesnt' come with S-AYC

yeah, the car comes pretty pig rich from the factory. i also got flashed from the boys at Works... even though i'm only hitting 12.3 psi right now and no one can figure out why... anger...

the Works flash actually improves your gas milage since it alters your a/f ratio, using less fuel in higher rpms, thus saving you fuel.

I think my mileage as dropped significantly since my alignment is way off. The car pulls to the right pretty bad. I just got camber bolts installed and will have the car aligned this weekend. Hopefully that helps with the gas mileage as well as the handling.

I uaually get 250-270 miles on a tank of gas as long as I don't boost all the time and just cruise on the highway. Around the city I can get 230-250 miles on a tank of gas and the same goes, if I boost a lot and drive hard them my mileage goes down. What really helped my gas mileage was changing to roayl purple motor oil.

wow, you must drive like a granny with arthritis to get mileage like that! if you can prove that the oil was the key factor in improving the mileage, i think we all would run it!

WTF! 250-270! 280! are you driving a hybrid Evo? Ive never gotten that! EVER! I have babied a few tanks...the best I got was 230 and I swear the car was about to run out of gas as I pulled into the gas station!

JDMevoracer

The best mileage I got on my Evo was 264 miles on a tank of gas, but that was on a long drive up the I-5.Â* I usually get 230-250.Â* For the record I don't granny drive and I don't have arthritis.

04 evo with Stage 1+ 720cc injectors. 280miles on average. the most i have ever hit was 318miles and people that knows me or have driven know it's fast too and it's yellow. ;) If you get shitty gas, chances are your low map/cruising tune is jack up. ;)

stock IX

i average about 20-21 mpg city/highway (chevron 91 octane...yes chevron because it's $2.75/gal right by my house)

the most miles i've gotten on a tank was about 265...riding it almost empty (i think i had like1-0.5 galons left lol)

i guess i should get a damn flash since all you guys are getting better mpg than me. lol

im very anal about my mileage and i calculate my mpg after everytime i fill up.
everytime i fill up, i reset the odometer. the next time i fill up, i will see how much miles i put on since the last time i was at a gas station and would divide by how many gallons i put in.
my stage 1 evo avg's aboutt 22mpg on mostly freeway and some streets. i am at about 20.5mpg now since school started because i avoid freeways in the morning and take the streets a lot more.
