Buddy thats the car business, i sell evo's and we ask 5,000 over msrp for MR'S . The point is some people pay it, and even if they dont pay the mark-up is gives us more negotiating room and by the end of the car deal they end up paying msrp. or a little more . So if we can sell brand new cars for full pop its about a 8-10% profit for the dealer. On a 22,000 vehicle the dealer makes about 3,000 including hold back , tunk money , rebates etc.

yeah but on a civic? i know about mark ups on new cars, but this much for an entry level car is laughable.
but this one takes the cake for sure.....mark up is 50% of the cost of the car itself :2funny:

Holy shit. You the know the world, as we know it, is almost over when a 2 door civic is the same price as an Evo MR.
An entry level car should never be that much.l

The best part is some rich Asian kid will convince his folks to get it for him... LOL

Insane. The mark-up is nearly half the MSRP price!
I could actually walk in, trade in my MR, and wobble out with a sore asshole and still owing money!

Well, i dont mind pay mark-ups for nice car as long as its reasonable... but for CIVICs...
............ people who paid that much for a CIVIC is insane JDM will :idiot2: about you. especially after you bought that civic and put a GT27R into it then go home eat RICE while thinking RICE..... LOL
man I hate CIVICs, its not as valuable as it seems on Fast & Furious. and its not a car worth buying at that much. I remember one of my friend bought JDM SIRII back when I was at New Zealand. its only $3400 USD(about $7000 NZD) used 94 EG6 B16A and he purchased it at 1997 (yes car is only 3 years old and only 40k km on it).....
But at US.. well I seen 3 years old SI goes from $13k to $18k anyday (insane 2nd hand value). By the way... HONDA never liked USDM ever, they Never want to give us the REAL DEAL.... not even DOHC Vtec .......
So we should stop buying HONDAs and make them think about CUSTOMERS.

i think any kid who has rich parents would be able to convince his parents to buy it for him. but then again, it would be easier for the asian kid since his parents are japanese car make only families and the civic is the holy grail of first cars for younger asian guys.

Yeah - I didn't mean it as a racial thing - just a real life thing. Most of the rich white kids I knew growing up either wanted a GTi (the 16v in those days) or a 5.0 Mustang. I know a few Asian guys that I've worked with that have parents that offer up any car they want as long as the parents approve. Most of them end up with Mercedes because the parents still think of Mercedes as the best-made car. Hondas would fall into that category, too. My Korean buddy at work got a new CLK as a gift... Must be nice.
