That is cool wavmixer I am black and have a white one and I love the color. Have a quick question for you guys dont know if this is the right place to ask but if it is not et me know. I have a friend that thinks that if I do mods to my car like down pipe, high flowcat , Exhaust, boost controller and reflash and tuned is going to go out after 40k I dolaunch the car only one time since I got it but this is what he said " heard someone that has an evo with
turbo back and intake
tranny died at 40k
quality control on the vehicle is sketchy
your really risking a lot"
What do you guys think about that?

That was a bit difficult to read, but I think your saying your affraid that the clutch, transmission and other various parts will go out within 40k miles with just a TBE and an intake? Here's some answers if I gotcha right:

- Yes the clutch might go out with your planned mod path of TBE, MBC, tune. It all depends on how many times you rough launch your car and how much power you have.
- Yes there are known issues with gear grinding on the Evo transmissions. It's all up to how rough you are with your shifting. Take your time when shifting, dont grind your gears. Your synchros will hold up just fine then.
- And no, the transmission isn't the part that "dies" from car abuse, its probably the transfercase. With repeated hard launches you are risking your transfercase. They can last forever or 10k, just depends on how many times you want to launch the car.
- And no, there isn't a magic number of times before this happens. Each time will effect the parts differently, hence the vague timeline.
- There are a few bugs here and there on the car quality control wise, but its not nearly as bad as some cars. I had a Sentra Spec-V that had a bunch more problems (including a blown headgasket and jacked up valve seats) on a perfectly stock car that wasn't raced.

Keep in mind the car does require more regular maintenance than most cars and it is definitely not as cheap to do common maintainence on than say a sentra (for example, the tires are more expensive, the brakes are more expensive, more fluids for more parts..). So just dont go slaughtering your Evo and you wont kill all your parts by 40k.* O0

And on a final note, your mods are mild and just fine for a daily driven Evo.
