Most of y'all know that I'm an old skool Mopar guy. I have owned a 1970 Dodge challenger T/A and a Plymouth AAR 'Cuda. Well those guys at Mopar are doing it again. Here is a video of the Challenger concept car. Looks beeter than the retro mustang if you ask me.

one of the guys i used to work with, whos also named chris has an old challenger. almost that same paint scheme too. cept the black stripes run down the sides above the door handles. its a really nice looking car. the engine always looks immaculate and ive never actually seen it covered in any amount of visible dirt. we were always jokin around about racing the quarter ...his dodge vs my mitsu. :-P

but yah, i do like the way the challenger looks as opposed to the mustang. cant say i really like the new mustang. its ....ehhh. is it just me ...or are we back to the fast car fascination? i mean the past years didnt seem to showcase alot of new sports cars. now we're kinda back to fast cars again. (not that theres a problem with that)

The Challenger looks alot better then the concept Camaro Chevy unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. I'm a Chevy guy and even I think the Challenger looks better. Funny thing was that I was at my friends work (the concept company that built the Challenger) sometime last year and saw the the frame and rear sheetmetal and asked about it and my friend said they were retrofitting an old Challenger with a new chassis for some bigwig with alot of $$$ to blow. Little did I know that's what it was. I talked to him last week after I saw pictures of it and he said he couldn't tell me due to the corporate legal mumbo-jumbo. The Chrysler/Dodge boys get a* O0

yeah its a good look as long as they stay with it and dont go after that plastic dodge feel and have four cars that all look a like. i think the closer to the old the better. and the big v-8 is a nice touch. i wanna see how the supercharged version is going to turn out if they do produce them O0

If I ever bought a muscle car I would buy a real one, not the half ass remakes they're making nowadays

that and the camaro concept should both be leaps and bounds more exclusive than the mustang

Wavmixer, I like you already* :smitten: not in a Brokeback kinda way, more like a 2 pat hug then separate man hug kinda way. This is my 70 Challenger currently in the body shop, I too saw the concept and was like WOW, that is gorgeous, my next door neighbor is a Chrysler exec and I get all the juicy info from him, he says it's almost a definate green light because of the hype this car is generating.

The cover story your friend gave isn't unrealistic. Remember Jay Leno had that Toronado built with all modern mechanicals under a vintage body... And I'm sure the bucks were $$$$$$$$$$$$$...

Very nice, I was thinking about painting mine Plum Crazy, but I think I'm going Sublime, and a 440 to back up the fruity color
