she is going as well...
as far as the ra1's... if you plan on competing or doing a time trials, then ra1s shaved will work best for you... but if you are doing it like most us, for fun.. RA1s non shave will be more then enough.. they handle great, just takes a couple of laps to warm up..

Call Marty Rauch of GTP Motorsports (818) 341-1424 -- with a couple of days advance notice, he can probably get you a set of Toyo RA-1 size 255/40/17 that fit on the stock wheels.* They also sell them at Buttonwillow and had quite a few in stock the last time I was there.* You can also order them from Vilven Tires in Illinois and they will ship them to you (800) 251-0017.

Yeah, nice to see folks out there.* Car had leaky head gasket so I got the tires almost warm at least :p*

Thanks to Mikew for helping me with a temp fix so I could get home fine and Simon for helping with track stuff and keeping my spirits up.* All in all, a bit frustrating when you go out and have a mechanical issue.

Then again, any day I can drive my car home from a track day is a good day :)

I can't wait to get back out!

Hi guys, haven't been on socal evo in a while. I was at Willow Springs running the big course yesterday 2/20/06. I noticed a bunch of evos running the streets. I also noticed some of the big dust clouds. I was running the streets all day Sunday in my Evo.

The big course was fun, especially for a first timer.

I'm curious how much track time (either in laps or mikles) the avg. participant got at your event?

I was doing Danny Mckeevers fast lane racing school up there (http://www.raceschool.com) $475 if you use your own car and I got to run 85 miles worth of laps. Would've run more but I had to stop for gas.

Hopefully I'll make it out to my first track event and meet everyone sometime soon (currently trying to buy a helmet)...

BTW, I live in WLA (weekend) and Temecula (weekdays).

At a private event like this it might be different, but if you talk to the organizer's at Speed Ventures or Redline about drivers who won't point by faster drivers, they will give him a talking to, and in generally won't happen again.* As Aaron says "I encourage tattle-taling"
