Does anyone (Neil, Tom Croxton, Macky) know anything about changes (if any) to the 2007 Evo IX? If the previous years are anything to go by, there will be some changes or additional options available (2003 v 2004 v 2005).

Thanks in advance...

You're already assuming that it will be a 2007 IX.

And you're already assuming that there won't. I seriously doubt the X is done.

ok, last week meeting with the mits rep at the head quarter.* anyway he told me 2007 will be the last years for IX.* Also around mid june-july they will stop shipment of the IX and start ads on the Evo X.* He also told me 60% chances are the IX might run at the begining of 2007.* Subject to change still because the Evo Ix will share it platform with PT cruiser, The new 7 passangers Outlander. i will keep you guy updated. the Evo X will come in 5 speed or 6 speed paddle shifter. I have also ask him about the SAYC, he reply " base on the market and pricing" if they are going to add it.* the 6 speed will be close ot $40k MSRP by the way O0

Whether it's a GT-R or an Evo X, I will wait at least one model year for an all-new platform... Back to the IX - anyone know if there are changes in order? I am not convinced that the IX isn't the way to go (vs. GT-R or Evo X).

Why not? People spend $250K for a Ford (GT).

if there will be changes, they wont be significant enough (i.e. powertrain, suspension) since Mitsubishi would be more keen on spending the R&D on the X. however, I believe the changes would be more aesthetic. rule of thumb would be the Japanese market - if you see something new on their IX, there is always a 70/30 chance it will make it stateside.

Exactly my thinking... Unless I can restrain my inner car whore and get my 911 S or V8 Vantage...

2007 will see some minor changes/upgrades to the IX before the X comes out in fall 2007 as an '08. I could tell you but then I'd have to...well, you know.

Terry S
02-22-2006, 11:09 AM
hmm.. Minor changes you say?

Like as minor as the changes from the VIII to the IX?

Like adding an exhaust MIVEC cam for the next variant of the IX?

Pllllleeeeeease?

lol it's just February of 2006... 07 is like a year away...
who knows anything that far away in the future...

and by the way... did mitsu change anything on 2004 evo 8?
that might be your answer

What about the 04-05 Evo.. Lotsa good changes there: ACD, 10.5 hotside, MR model...

Plus, you have to figure that the '07 Evo IX should be comming out in Japan any month now so there should be some lists of whats going to change floating around.

That's pretty much what the timeframe has always been. Anyone thinking otherwise is just delusional.

Now that i think of it i think that they actually were thinking of having a year without an EVO at all. like it being a 09 model and not having an evo for 08.

Macky
02-24-2006, 03:24 PM
/\ thats kind of close to what i heard.

gen4k20a2

makes sense so there is a buffer between the models. The numbers for a IX.5 would be hurt pretty bad if in 8 months a X would be coming out

Macky
02-24-2006, 05:06 PM
there's gonna be a 9.5 most likely, but it wont be around about maybe a year before the next evo comes out. Mitsubishi never produced two separate versions at the same time.
