my dad and i went to check out the new C6 zo6.

it was very nice but it was kind of cheaply made. the rubber seal came off and the battery was low soo the doors wouldnt open. the price was $64 MSRP with a 15,000 mark up.

we are comparing it to the new NSX's.

because i was thinking that the Corvette justs has only 505hp. but what else? does it handle well? does the hp match the handling?

i know that the NSX's are good cars. but the price is kind of to high. $89 MSRP.

which would you rather go for?

you are a lucky guy, a new z06 is an awesome car, (the markup is a killer though) check up on some corvette websites for some possible breaks there. pretty good track car of the showroom floor.
the nsx, heck I'd love an old one.
so either way how can you go wrong?

You basically have to be a NSX fanatic to buy the new NSX which is going to be replaced in a few years. The NSX is nice and built very well yes, but it is dated, very dated. The Zo6 will kill the NSX in every speed category and possibly handling as well. My voite is the Z06

ya im a honda guy and i have to agree. The NSX will get spanked by the Z06 in speed and in the handling department...well who knows cause no one tests the NSX's anymore. But in the end the Z06 is an american with american build quality. Fit and finish on the NSX is flawless and the vette...well a little substandard in my opinion.

Tell your dad to wait about a year till the new NSX comes out.

NSX is sweet but its just not worth the money it costs "new" i feel right now its pritty hard to beat the Z06 for what it costs.

z06 if you want a fast car. the nsx doesnt have nearly enough power.

and if you're concerned the z06 handles as good or better than a stock evo O0

I've seen (Jeff Gordon) test the Z06 stock on the (Speed channel) @ the (Road to Atlanta track) and the z06 did 1.27 handling g's in the corners. Now if you ask me I wouldn't think twice about getting the Corvette over the NSX unless you have a budget.

dang its kind of a hard to choose! the fact the corvette has 505 7.0 liter engine for $65 MSRP is KILLING ME! its like what macky said. Best Bang for the buck. But to me its like, the NSX is more of a high class car. And the looks is of its own. Its original and like the C6 zo6 just looks lke a regular vette.

which do you think is more fun to drive?

thanks for helping me out guys!

C6 Z06, no questions at all. It completely will outperform the NSX in every catagory. Unless you are all about bling and dont care about performance then go for the NSX.

Definitely the Z06.. Oh and you should be able to get a new NSX for around 75k too. Yes i'm speaking from experience.

The new NSX's aren't all that awesome anymore... My Evo drives just as well and its stock.

Can't believe this is even a thread your evo is likley quicker than an NSX, they are dogs, and they dont really handle that well I have read several ariticles on the car and driven one a couple of times stock to lightly modded they are way to twitchy near the limit and you have to wind that motor up too much which just makes the car even twitchier if thats a word.

I think my hatred for the NSX was solidified at Laguna seca when some guy with a seriously modded one (coils, wing, exhaust, wheels/tires, intake, chip etc, etc.) spent all day talking shit in the drivers meetings only to have us blow right by him like he was standing still on the front straight in '91 m5 Weak sauce just like that car.

nonetheless... it WAS a great car when it first came out... just the price tag is way too high...

one more thing... you buy the car for love, not because it performs... would you rather buy a car that you hate to see every morning that performs very very well, or buy a car that makes you happy every time you see it and think aahhh i finally own this car O0
