whats everyone running in socal? i have to get a new provider before i move out cuz my current cell is midwest only unless i want to spend an extra $100/month over what im spending now to get the 'national' plan. i was thinking verizon but looking at their map it shows alot of white (no coverage) in cali.

**Edit by mod: Added a poll for ya.

T-mobile......... It's all about the Pink Sidekick!!!! Cheap plans + the sidekick allows me to browse SoCal where ever I am! Service is pretty good too!
I've had Sprint, Nextel (both before the merge and after) AT&T before they where Cingular. T-Mobile has been the best by far with customer service and rates!

Verizon would be great for you if you don't travel...
T-Mobile or Cingular if you plan trips to Europe or pacific-rim countries...unlocked GSM w/ international roaming

Verizon has great coverage in the LA area though...
I roll w/ T-Mobile...though T-Mobile does overlap / lease their network w/ Cingular...

I see Cingular coverage in my area on my curr. unlocked phone (I believe this is due to my firmware) where in the past my default provider T-Mobile showed as the provider...since they share / lease air space...I am not charged any xtra on my monthly bill...

:2funny: The ones in the pic are the ones I have. I got them as a gag gift for christmas from some of my friends like 4-5 years ago.

They're actually still in the packaging. I've never used em.

+1 for T-Mobile customer service. Just say "operator" after calling 611, and you'll be able to talk to a real person within a minute or two. I also think they have the most streamlined online billing/checking minutes/reviewing last calls/etc.. I've had Cingular before, but T-Mobile just seems to have a better site overall.
