I may have to miss the one in WC, but if you meet in cerritos, let me know because that's just down the street from my house. And as for filipino restaurants in this area, you might want to try magic wok on artesia and pioneer for down home good filipino cooking at reasonable prices. Across the street from where Jollibee is they have Sari ling Atin, and if you go near cerritos mall you'll find Salo Salo grill or goldilocks.

Leyte is always hit hard with disasters. My wife was in ormoc city during the flood back in 1991, a lot of people died during that one.
