No pressure driving, more track time than any other event. Please feel free to call me for more details

You will be driving from 9-5. We start the event with run groups, but after lunch its open track. We never have too much traffic. I will also run the tracks clockwise. Towards the middle of the day, if everyone likes, we can change up the direction of traffic :)

Its a replica of mountain driving. Its located in Willow springs above the streets of willow track. Mostly used for street bikes :)

We will do our best for saftey and go over the track with you. If you are not sure of your capabilites we recommend not to push it. We will have saftey crews on stand by both days and plenty of corner workers on the blind corners.

I have driven it 4 times at speed and looked at it for EOC events.* It is a blast but it is really not for newbies.* Many places if you go off track, you end up in a ditch or airborne.* There are also 2 places you can go into oncoming traffic because there are no barriers setup yet which is why we are waiting for the track to make safety mods.* I wasn't trying to be neg and kudos for setting up some events.*

You have a higher tolerance for liability than we do :)

at least i happen to check my the oil on my motor and not act like a dumb ass and expect the thing to magically be filled up with oil :P
the cams issues its something you guys are making a big deal about it..
I started with iper cams ,.... decided to trade them for Buddy clubs which i had no intensions of keeping.. sooo, there for ITS NOT OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS what freaking set up i choose... At least i can distinguish the different parts that i search for and not act ignorant to what they do... unlike others that can;t tell the differnce amoung certain things.. Including Miss evo 8 who purchase coilovers because she thought they were pretty due to there purple and gold colors..
An just to let you know this has nothing to do with driving but adquiring knowledge on what future mods you plan to do..
The funny thing about the evo community, besides old DSM guys. Is that some people don't bother to experiment with certain things.. you guys go with what all the DSM guys have used in the past but now we have different things available that might cost a bit more money and might produce different results.. this is not a direct hit at the old school DSM guys, since you guys ROCK!

I have had the jic's an I'm very well aware of there capabilities when there place on the hands of a good driver.. I'm also aware of my mistakes.. I wish I had more time and money in order to attend to the track. since I can improve at the track with more time behind the wheel but unfortunate *that's not my case. Good idea. I wish it was that simple. My boss already knows I am taking Wed. 4/19 off to run at Buttonwillow, and I have to work this weekend, so I had to cancel going to the SpeedVentures event on the extended track at Spring Mtn. Taking 2 days off in a week that is so busy that it covers the weekend just ain't a likely possibility.

Sam...I just got back from SOW a few hours ago and I'm ready to go again. I'll definitely be there Friday. I'll call you tomorrow to arrange for tech inspection and payment at your Costa Mesa shop. I met a lot of cool people today...including Miss Evo8...and had a blast pushing (or occassionally exceeding) the limits of my current skill level. I just got back from having a 3" downpipe made custom for my '05 and a new set of RA-1's. Also put in a custom made camera bracket on the rear shelf child restraint . I tell ya, it feels like Christmas! Tomorrow is gonna be a blast!! It's hot up here today, but supposed to cool down tomorrow.

I had a great time today. More track time available than any other event I've been to. i had lottsa fun although I was plagued with break downs. First I split an intercooler hose and had to locate and modify a radiator hose. After my ghetto mod was done I got about 2-3 more laps when the car died on the track. After calling AAA to tow my broken ass to HB, Sam came by and asked if I could still hear my Walbro fuel pump. DUH, no. Replaced the fuse and BAM! Thank you Sam! My car is ready for the next event at big willow. I then packed everything up, came home and took a nap. O0

I've got to give a huge thanks to Sam for putting together a really smooth running, easy going, no hassle, fun, fun, fun, unlimited track time event. It was really cool to see Sam showin' up that Z06 in his Civic! I had an awesome time and learned a lot in the 120 miles I put on the track today. The best part was meeting fellow enthusiasts...and many of the SoCalEvo crew. I can now put some faces to the names. The SoCal crew is definitely a fast bunch, too! Now I just have to see what strings I have to pull to get the day off on Friday May 12th...So I can hit up Sam's next SOW event.

Damn, what a day. I got about 140 miles of track time too...it's so different than I expected. It was nice to be pretty comfortable with the track within only a few laps, so you can spend the rest of the time working on your line. Thanks Sam for putting on this event, the open track time was great, really takes the pressure off. I did a lot better than I expected, even though my camber settings were so uneven left to right...There were quite a few offroad adventures today, luckily I managed to at most "drift" a couple turns, luckily no spinouts, but a few close calls. O0 My calipers are now brownish, my rear bumper covered in brown soot, and my tires looking like they spent a week with a teething dog, but it was all worth it! See you guys out there next time, I'll have my camber and spring rates sorted out by then. Nice seeing everyone out there today.

anyone know how Dustin (spdyevo) did?


dnf... no track time... car didn't make it passed turn 1... first yellow flag of the day
I felt for Dustin and offered to take him for a ride with me. After 2 laps I blew an intercooler hose and the ride was over. After I replaced the hose and ran a few laps, I again offered Dustin a ride. After another lap or two my fuel pump fuse blew in the middle of the track. Not a great day for Dustin. Three times on the track, 3 DNFs :oops:

I hate being in cars when they break!! *Meh, the good thing is that nobody got hurt, could have been A LOT worse and we are lucky that it happened where/when it did.

Holy crap that was a lot of fun! After 115 miles of track duty I'm offically ready for new street tires & dedicated track tires/rims. It was really great being there with everyone from socalevo too. I lost track of how many times I would look out at the track after pitting & see only 2 or 3 other cars. No wonder I was always running by myself. I have to say it was fun playing in the dirt too.

Dude, Speedracer, can't wait to see the footage!!!! Hope you get your car situation fixed soon too.
