did you try searching? It is the exhaust side of the turbo, hence "hotside" Some 04 and all 05 and up are equipped with the larger 10.5 housing comapred to the 9.8

The painful to touch side of the turbo. You have a 10.5 for reference.

a picture is worth 1000 words... Doing a search will help you gather some information about the hotside of a turbo .. here is the pic of a 10.5 Hot side found equipt on all 05's and some 04 models.
This larger 10.5cm^2 Turbine housing. Fits all EVO4-EVO8 cars and offers a larger, less restrictive turbine housing made in F5 material. This is the same housing from the 2005 MR with the improved single flapper design that was updated from the 2003,4 models.

The factory EVO8 turbine housing is a 9.8cm^2 nozzle size.

03/04 USDM Evo's (all variants) = 9.8 hotside
05/06 USDM Evo's (all variants) = 10.5 hotside

Probably people buying the '05 model in 2004 so they got confused.

actually on the contrary my friend...the late late 04 models had the 10.5 hotside. im talking from november and after. i guess they had too many 04s so they decided to give those the bigger hotside as well. it was on the mitsu delivery reports when i worked there.

Would depend on your "set up" everyone is slightly different so there are no accurate numbers......
