I just found a 1990 Eclipse GSX around the area that is on sale. It has 140,000 miles on it and the owner is asking for $1200. I haven't checked out the car myself, so I'm not sure what kind of conidition it is in. But, does anyone have any advice on things I should look out for when checking this vehicle out?

Thanks,
Eric

My buddy just picked one up. That is a great price, the one he bought was a 92 GSX, I think it has the VR4 4G63 motor I'm not sure. Full TB JIC suspension, and a lot of other goodies. He payed 4k, but it has more stuff on it that I havnt mentioned. Hey if you dont want it let me know because I have been looking for one.

The 90 is the weirdest of the bunch. For that price if it runs decent it wouldn't be bad. If you are looking to build a GSX, then you want a late 92 AWD with a 6 bolt motor, 4 bolt rear end, no sunroof, 5 speed of course, and preferably no ABS. Basically any of the 92-94 models are really good to modify, but they are pretty rare cars, so it is hard to find them in clean condition and running...

Watch out for the old capacitors in a 1G ECU. If they have been known to leak, cook the ECU, or in Shaun's case burn the car down.
