Go to www.audiusa.com and check it out..

Base RS4 is $66K (about $15K less than anticipated). The only real option is a $4700 premium pack, but that includes EVERYTHING (Bose, Nav, etc. etc.). The other options are colors, leather color, aluminum or CF trim, rear airbags and no-cost sunroof delete.

I spec'ed it and it is $71,420. I contacted Audi today to trade up. I wanted this car a LONG time ago, but I figured it would be $85K loaded (which is Carrera S money to me). At $70K or so, that is worth it. Besides the money I would have spent with S4/GTI or S4/Evo combo would have been more than the RS4 monthly. Once I get word back from Audi, I'll post more details.

Let me find a job back in SD or become a Blackwater contractor and I'm back... While my current job pays well and is very "cool", the politics suck donkey balls (this IS Washington D.C. after all).

Check out the site and tell me what color I should get. Right now, I am torn between the Phantom Black Pearl, the Avus Silver, and the Daytona Gray Pearl. I would get black leather no matter what the exterior is.

well let me know if you want one. My friend that I use to work with transferred to the Porchse dealership and he's the son of the Vice President of our dealerships so I'm pretty sure he can set you up on that RS4

Speedracer - I am ABSOLUTELY sure I want one. The problem is that I am in VA. If you can figure a way to get me a good deal on the trade in (high 40s) AND get my car out there AND get the RS4 shipped out here, I am all for it. I can get my own financing lined up and Tom @ HB will tell you I am good as far as credit is concerned. I want one so bad, esp. now that it is within financial reach.... I would keep it forever (barring some moron in a white Accord wagon hitting me and rolling me off the freeway).

I'll talk to him later to day and let you know what's up. I'm pretty sure they can set something up. Shit Jerry Seinfeld buys his Porsches there. Anyone want his address or Paris Hilton's?

Chris,

The Daytona Gray is usually only on RS cars... it's a gray with some purple in it. What did you do to the wheels? Are they polished or body color or something? If this happens, I think I'll put winter tires on the stock wheels and get some HREs or BBS for the summer. Damn, it's hot... 415 hp out of 4.2L normally aspirated with an 8K redline!!!

Well, I went in to order it and things were great until I got the trade-in appraisal.... Uhhhh I don't think I'll let my S4 go for $38K... So unless I sell it privately, it's a no-go. Man, I have never been madder about not being able to spend some money. >:(

You can price out your car yourself at www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com or www.nada.com to see how much of a rip-off that offer was. Good luck.

They told me that was KBB... I told them to quit smoking crack... They told me to sell it privately... I told them have a nice evening. I'll enjoy my Carrera S later...

What year is your S4? I see S4s ranging from $25k and $60k.

It's a 2005.5 (actual model year) B7 4.2L V8... The 2005 is a B6 (with the old style grill) and 4.2L V8. The B5 is the 2.7L twin turbo V6...

I was so pissed of when I saw the price. The last time I went to rusnak to service my A4, the sales guy told me "high 80s" for the RS4 when its released. If I knew the price last week I probably would have gone for that rather than my ix mr.

Wow, guess who's going to Germany this August to perhaps pick up an RS4 tax-free thru military sales? :D
