Event location is a part of Glen Helen Raceway Park, San Bernardino, CA.
See their web page. http://www.glenhelen.com/facts.htm

There are some RallyX pics in last year at Galen Helen.

yeah. if anyone plans on going to the event its a blast. its basically a large open area without anything obstructing your way, except cones. Its definitely worth the 40-50$.

Yeah, I went to the gcrallyx there last year. No worries of damages to the car. No pot holes or anything to ram into. Just one big dirt area. I'm probably out of commision for any rallys this year

i'm still debating whether i should rally or not. need to buy stock rims with some crappy tires for the rally

same here; if I can score some appropriate tires I'll be there. but I don't like sliding over rocks on the same tires I use to drive my favorite mtn roads on. rock cuts @ 160 = no fun.

I'll be there. I was a spectator, freezing my ass off at the last (ever) Tombstone - I got some good video though, which I'll even get out of the camera some day. Anyway now I got proper rally mudflaps and a helmet so I'm in.. my tyres are ready for replacement anyway. I'm the English guy with a red VIII with VII tails.

So far the entry list looks like most rallycrosses - ten Subarus and two Evos. And one Galant. My class (SS4) even has prizes, although admittedly they are for Lancaster Subaru. The names look familiar so I think I'm the only rookie, but maybe I can hold off the guy in the 4WD Civic wagon..

Bunch of pics from the rallycross/rallyx this past Saturday. It was an absolute blast.. so much fun. The mudflaps worked great, they kept the vast majority of the dirt and rocks away from the car. Only thing.. er... all the street tyre class Evos and STis got _owned_. By a stock Honda Element (AT). Hey, it was a very twisty course and he was a very good driver (former CRS champion). The Galant, wearing rally tyres, got the best time of the day by miles. Some great drivers out there.

Good show of Evos. Mine is the red one, Isamu (yellow) and Carlos (silver/blue tape) are in there too, along with a nice white rally-prepped one and a load of Subarus:

Hey Phil

Great shots. I've never had a picture of my car before. It's me Carlos with the Silver Evo and Blue tape.

Hey Carlos. Now you see why I thought you'd ran at Tombstone - as you can see from his sig, Ghostchild up there also runs rallycrosses in a silver Evo with blue tape..

Just to clarify, I only took the third set of pics - the others are galleries I found on other forums. Don't wanna be taking credit for other people's work. I think the first set (Roman K) are awesome pics, the guy has some serious talent (in the car too.. he won SS2 in a Neon.. err.. 'sponsored' by Enterprise :) ).

Plenty more events coming up. Check http://www.californiarallyseries.com/results.htm about half way down the page - two more at Glen Helen and three at Del Mar. And it sounds like the Gravel Crew have some pretty damn cool stuff up their sleeves too, so hopefully we'll see that before the year is out.

I'll be there again.. it's a shame to miss MOD but I can't pass up the rallycross 8)

Lisa, does Leon still have that Escort? I saw pics from the SD rallycross he ran at. Any chance he'll be rallycrossing it again.. man, that would bring back some memories (early 80s RAC Rallies, specifically)

btw there's a rallyx forum at http://www.socalrallyx.com where you can bug Mike and Mark about the course being too twisty and discuss the finer points of starting orders

i plan on going to the Aug 26th event, but i have some questions...

about how many runs do you get at each event? It sounds like its set up alot like an Autox...

Also are there ever any practice events?

My experience with Autox is i just go to practice events and never both wtih the points events.... get alot more runs for your money - which is the reason of going, Personally i could care less about points and trophies.

+1! I totally agree. Autocross is fun, but the practice events are what I enjoy most. Why sit around all day and get burned up in the sun to run 3-4 times??

I also would like to know how many runs you guys typically get in a day...
