That was one of the reasons why I didn't want an R32... I love Scirrocos and Corrados but Golfs and Jettas have always been chick cars to me...

It's DSG - it's friggin badass... I love it. I will send the pics tomorrow morning if I can find a USB cable or a card reader.

Definitely not a chick car - I had some muscle car guys at the local Friday night meet asking me about it.

nice how much you pay if you dont mind me asking, my gf just picked up a package 2 with dsg, pretty nice lil car

Chris in SD

It was $25, 520 out the door. I got a white one with DSG, Sirius, 18" wheels w/summer tires (Bridgestone RE050s), and no sunroof. The no sunroof/Sirius combo is what made it a special order. I really like it - and I think I converted the finance dude (Korean guy named Lee who drives a C55 AMG :-o) into an Evo guy. I told him about this site and DCEvoClub.com.

For those of you who haven't tried DSG yet, go test drive an A3 or GTI. It's amazing - you guys should be glad the Evo X will have it.

yeah we got the package 2 with 18's and dsg for 28,100 out the door. we ended up paying invoice for it and picked it up with 22 miles on it. dsg is pretty fun, but i dont think i dont know if i would want it on an evo. maybe if it was a second car or something but i think it would detract from the raw feel of the evo, which the X seems to be doing anyways. so how long til you chip the gti? supposedly 300 hp with a chip

ya except the evo version wont be a automated clutch, its a fucking twatamatic with paddle shifting.

Everything I've read is that the Evo X will have a dual-clutch like DSG.

I talked to a guy with H&R springs last night - no issues with the headlights and the drop looks good.* I'll get them at the end of the month when I get back from my trip.* As for the chip, it'll go from 200hp/207lb-ft to 252hp/303lb-ft.* I am VERY seriously considering it...* :-o

I am off to get a card reader right now, so I'll e-mail the pics to Cris soon...

EDIT - PICS SENT TO ULTRAFLIP

Depends on what's going on in 2 years... I already promised myself a GT3 if I move back to Cali (in which case I'd sell the GTI for a deposit on it). I'll keep the S4 as long as I can.

That's a very nice GTI! Your car would look even hotter on some black rims with red lips.

nice car...but im definately not feeling the rims...the thinner 5-spokes on the website were a lot nicer...but O0 to you! that car is more plush than an evo ever could be!

Nice car. I dont know how you went from almost buying a Aston Martin, or maybe a Porsche to this.
When I was at the dealor getting my new car last week they had a R32 with 20k miles. It was selling for $500 less then the price when it was new. I'm glad I didn't see it befor I bought my car, or I might have drivin off with that.

R32... I considered it, and I wish it was more on par with the EVO. Priced the same, but weighs more, and about 50 less horsepower, not to mention it costs the same as new. Nah. I loved my scirrocos and maybe if it was more of a coupe I would get it.

I've never driven a R32, but they always sounded great from what I've read. Then again I've never driven a Scirroco either.

The R32 is probably the best Golf ever. That being said its also the most expensive. However when you go dollar to dollar, the EVO and the STI is a better buy. The R32 has a nicer interior though

I got some scoop about the Aston that made me decide against it. I really want a 911 GT3, but I won't buy one out here in VA. I am going to buy another house out here, so if I move back to CA, I'll buy the GT3 w/the equity. The GTI was just for screwing around on the weekend, auto-x, etc.

Scot - That's not hair, those are my glasses on my head. 8)

Speaking of my "Fast", I got it in the mail... pretty cool, even if Subaru feels the need to compete with a car in a performance/size class below. What next, Mitsu talking about how bad the Evo IX will spank the new Si?

It looks legit to me, which makes it that much lamer. That would be like a Z06 ad that says the Z06 can stomp a Mustang GT...

For all you non-believers, I just took about 6 different guys in DCEvoClub.com out for test rides/drives and every one of them (all modded Evo owners) loved it. I'm telling you, this is the gearbox of the future...
