Aparently they have some laboratories down there and some of the animals got loose. Now they're attacking tourists/locals/everyone.

I found this video online earlier this morning. I hope to hell it was faked. It's not work safe. And I don't sugguest you watch it on a full stomach.

What's lame is I was told to be onsite Monday AM, but no one has bothered to tell me what the F I'm supposed to be doing there. I have no job description, no time line and as such, no ticket.

Well quick update:

Trinidad is pretty weak. Tourism is nill, not none to non f'ing existant. We aren't allowed out of the villa/compound @ night and the only real "mall" is up in Port of Spain (an hours drive away).

The villa I'm staying in is actually pretty nice. A fair amount of homes (especially costal) are up on stilts. Min isn't, and it's clean with tile floors all around. My residence is a 2 story, 3 bedroom town home. We have cable, but of course, there's nothing worth watching.

Shopping for food is a real bitch. Not only do the stores have their own local, name brands, but nothing is set up in a logical "american" order isle-wise. For my best efforts, I have been unable to locate any peanutbutter. And the "milk" they have is actually what we'd consider a heavy cream. If you want low-fat milk it comes in a carton...and warm. Once you open it, you refridgerate it.

Driving to work is pretty sad. The roads are comperable to mexico. The cars are run down/beat down and sadly not very clean. Pollution doesn't seem to be a concern here as half the car emmit billowing clouds of black soot into the air.

The plant I'm working for is a Methonol processing plant. It's just like any other office on the inside, and like any other refinement facility on the outside. The people who work here are very friendly and always encourage us to get out and see the country. And that's always followed by "be careful". <--not berry encouraging, mon....

Last night (Friday) we went to "Movie Town" which is a mall up in POS (port of spain). We hung out at an open air bar where I saw the only other white guy on the island and believe it or not, an ASIAN! Nearly all the islanders are either black or indian it seems. We had sushi in Movie Town and it wasn't horrible. Then we were supposed to go to a few clubs, but the driver for the group decided it was time to go home.
:( Oh well, maybe in two weeks when I'm back, I'll get to see some "real" night life.

And that's about it from the Caribbean. I sure wish the project was on a different island. Aruba, Jamaca, Cuba....anywhere....

Yup, so still no bag.
Still no laptop.
Still no rum.

Went to LAX this morning to spend another 14 hours in the air, when someone flushes a diaper down the toilet of the plane. That clogged up the entire plumbing system and caused a 1.5 hour delay which meant I would miss my connecting flight in Houston.

So back home I went. (Though personally, I could miss every flight this week and not give a shit. I'm happier here)

Oh, and I rented a new G6. That thing is F'ing sweet as heck! Nice power, average handling, sweet styling (for a domestic) etc, etc.

This weekend was pretty cool. We took off for some of the beaches on the northern side of the island. Loads of hot women, but not as many thongs as I would have hoped. Still...lots to look at.

They have Bake & Shark. Which is like a fried, doughy pancake cut in half and you put a few slices of shark (very good btw), pineapple, lettuce and whatever other sandwhich additives you like.

The drive to the beach was like driving in New Zealand or maybe Hawaii. Lots of green, everything was lush. (nothing like the industrial side of the island where I have to live and work.
