meh? Its a much nicer car than an Evo and if you think otherwise you have some issues.

nicer yes and i would prob take it over an evo any day but i still wish porche would make a cayman or some other mid engine car with the same kinda of hp as the GT3. rear engine cars still have a pritty messed up weight distribution no matter how much porche trys to fix it.

You do realize that Porsches win their class in GT racing all around the globe, right? That "messed up weight distribution" makes them easier to rotate in a corner, put more traction down, and provide good balance under hard braking. Those Germans aren't as dumb as you think. BTW, the Evo has a 60/40 weight distribution - that seems like a "pritty (sic) messed up weight distribution" to me. O0

I love the new GT3 - I think it looks really aggressive and 415hp from a normally aspirated 3.6L 6-cyl is wild.

the evo has a pritty messed up weight ditribution too but the evo wasnt built from the ground up as a sports car. also im pritty sure that porsche relizes that the rear engine thing isnt the best since all the other cars they build are mid engine (the cayenne doesnt count as a real porsche) the only reason they still build rear engines is to please 911 fanboys. Also the reason they are so successful is prob because they build extreamly solid cars and provide great factory support to there racing customers.

another meh... i would love to see it in white color and red wheel, red vinyl though... that combination is super sexy!
other than that... i got nothing bad to say about these cars...

Another fine example of ROLLING SEX. Great car, shitty color. Blue & Grey FTW.

I agree that they haven't moved the engine forward for precisely the reasons you mention, but that big lump in the back gives it serious traction, plus modern suspension + electronics have dialled the wickedness out of the tail. Supposedly, the 911 is going to move more and more into a GT-type car and the Cayman family will take over the sports car action.

i heard that many cars are build to withstand the gernman autobahn...which is why german cars are so well built.

i'd like to go hit the autobahn someday. but they have crazy rules and fees to drive on it. fortunately...percentage wise, it's safer to drive on the gernman autobahn than our freeways. haha

+1. And once you learn how to drive with that big weight in the back you do learn how to use it to your advantage. Former non-believer, and now a huge fan. I love 9-1-1's.

911s are great. i've always liked them.
my friends dad owned a 911 turbo which my friend took out once in a while. unfortunately my friend drives a 2000 civic. HAHAH. sucks. but he'd get pulled over doing 200+ on the freeway and get away with it cuz he has his dads business card or whatever showing in the front of his license and the cop will see it. his dad is a forensic investigator guy. and all my friend has to say is "my dad got called in, and my little sister is home alone and she's terrified when she's home alone"....then the cop lets him go. lucky ass.

:bs:

200+ not likely since the fastest production turbos todate only do about 192...997 not with standing as I dont know those numbers yet

he told me 200. i dont know much about top speed on them.
this was 3 years ago if that changes anything.

i was watching the history channel and they had this special on the german autobahn. the guy tested a porsche and went 212 or something.
anyone else see this...because i forgot which model it was.

yeah some of the modified ones will hit 240mph but other than the C-GT at the moment none are 200mph cars

well i have no idea what his dad did to it...but my friend told me 200. and he's done it with the windows open (what a dumbass).

but yeah...im not that into prosches...i know a little about a lot of things.

I am a totaly porsche whore guys here will tell you, needless even if it wasnt 200 thats still crazy fast I have had my dads turboS up around 180 and thats just f'in cooking.

M5 is nice thanks, little pricey on the maintennce side, but then so was my evo.

thisxguy

180 is fast. i heard that once you reach those high speeds everything seems to slow down.

bmws are always expensive...i have a e34 and it was expensive even though its old. i'm looking at an M3 as my next car.
i feel like the evo is a downgrade since i came from a bmw. haha.
but the evo is nice.

Absinthe

Remeber the old 959. They had versions of that car that went well past 200 mph. Best porsche made.
