My first autocross event

I went to my first autocross a couple weeks ago on June 3rd. The BMW CCA autocross even at qualcomm. And wow i never had so much fun in my life. I went with 3 of my friends. wich all have BMW's :). I wasnt even planning on running. then they had a spot open so i decided to when i was there. I did pretty good i think. The EVO is just plain crazy on the track. so controllable. I got 1st place in the X class ( wich is the non BMW car class) and i got 6th place at the overall event. Heres the results. http://www.sdbmwcca.com/Auto-xResults/June-3-2006.html It felt so awesome to take home a trophy on my first auto x event. It was a 1.1 mile autocross coarse too. I want to go again soon. But it was a real killer on the Advans, especially with the 100 degree weather there was that day. Im thinking about just buying some hankook RS2's for my next set of tires. alot easier on the pocket book.

good job man! were u nervous at all? post pix of the trophy! did u pushed the car or just drive with leisure since it was your first one?
ps how much was the fee to get in the event?

Yah i actually was pretty nervous. the first 2 laps the instructor drove my car. then i took over for the last 2 laps of the session with the instuctor riding shotgun. i drove pretty slow those laps. then after that like 2 hours later i got another 4 practice laps. just me in the car. I actually took the car to its limits more than i should of. my first lap out i broke to late and hit like 3 cones. those where the only cones i hit all day. but its good, these 4 laps i found out the limits of my car. then 2 hours after that we had the timed sessions. we got 3 laps for the timed part. my first lap was like 106.4 then my second was 107.5 (understeered to much on a corner :( ) then my third was my fastest lap at the 106.1. Overall it was one of the best days ive ever had. Oh yah. And the event cost $40 to run.

I'm glad you had fun. Autocrossing is a blast! People make fun, but that's usually because they've never done it. Congrats on your win. O0
