San Diego Convoy to MOD 2006

Well guys only a month a way now till MOD and i know people from s.d are going to go so i would like to have a nice convoy going so we can roll up together.

i particpated in the honda-tech eibach meet a couple of months ago and we had a nice convoy. it went well except for the stupid ricers racing on the freeway while the rest of us were going 70 - 80.

it was a nice site seeing 30+ hondas on the freeway and taking up all the lanes. also best part was that cops never harrassed us even they saw all the cars.

so i would like to have a convoy going to MOD. The whole event starts at 10am so i would like to leave san diego around 730 to 8* the latest because from experience from the eibach meet there was barely not enough parking when we arrived.

it would be nice to meet up at a nice location where everyone can meet like edwards cinema in mira mesa so people from down south can have a place to gas up or what not also theres a starbucks for those that are not morning people.

for the north county people you guys can prolly meet up at a certain area also and we'll stop by on the way there so we can have a even bigger group.

Lets go san diego we have to show the rest of socal how we do it down here.

if anyone is interested i'll start the list going.

meet up will be at 730 am!!!

and we'll all leave at 8 to MOD...

It might be easier for north county people off the 15 to come down to Mira Mesa coz we gotta cruise up the 5 freeway to get there... What do you guys/gals think?

Another option would be to meet somewhere off the 78 freeway like the fry's or bestbuy parking lot on San Marcos Bvld. At least that way, we aren't too far from the 5...

whats up man ive been busy with work and i finally got a daily bitch car (honda del sol) so i actually put rear disc brakes on it so been busy with that also but dont worry man im still lurking around this site.

for the meet up with north county guys. i really dont know where those places are but im always down to find out.

but what dagul said that rest area up in oceanside b4 the long stretch is acutally a nice place to meet up.

lets go north county guys figure things together so we can have a nice evo stretch on the 5 and 405 im sure i'll be taking pictures when its full of evos taking up the whole freeway. that would be a nice scene.

As for your Del Slo... :2funny: What year is it? It's good you got a daily, you've been racking up miles on your MR like it's going out of style... Did you get the the B16 or the D16Y8? I'm assuming the SOHC coz you just added rear discs to it... Anyway, we having a July meet like you were planning?

and i got a 96 del sol s. lowest version no ac, no pw, no cruise only thing i did so far is change the drums to disc via gsr brakes.

i want a meet but then MOD is happening so im guessing we can have a mini meet b4 we drive up to go convoy with the others

I see... Are you planning on doing a motor swap or keeping the SOHC? My wife is tired of her car and wants me to put it back to stock when it gets back from the shop so that we can sell it or trade in...

No one seems to want anything so I'll be sitting on a lot of honda parts if you're interested. LOL...

As for the minimeet/convoy, instead of a stop in mira mesa and another at the rest area, we could all just all meet up there around 730-8am so we have a little chill time before the drive up. What do you think?

I would love to make the meet but due to prior engagements my Evo will be garaged and I will be on another 9 month adventure back to the desert. Please keep me posted if there are anything going on earlier than 18 July

That sucks... There's not much unity amoungst SD evos, so your best bet is the fusion meets... I personally don't go there, but I'm sure there'll be other evos there in the sea of scoobies....

I would suggest meeting here. This where we met for HKS meet. There is a Gas, Mcdonlads and a Starbuck all in the same area. WE all have to get on the 5N anyway so this best meeting place with lots of parking. It worked for HKS convoy.

I'm game but depending on the condition of the helicopters in my squadron i might have to work that weekend, im crossing my fingers though and im looking forward to meeting all the local EVO guys... dont drive too fast though, my cars bone stock :(

Yeah true...but not all are enthusiast like us (I have ran into a couple of people while at the gas station and some didnt even know what a forum was...never heard of socalevo.net and such)...or they are going on their own...I like the whole idea of going down there with a bunch of people....

yessir i was the last one they told me. i wanted to get a flash but i dont have the money for it :( i barley had money for the ss conversion cuz my gf bday is coming up and were going to vegas so yea im tight on budget i really wanted it too but i got a lot of info from then when i called them up to put me on the list.

Yeah, they were handing out free car parts. RJ and I snagged a couple trunk trays. They ran out of hyper ground systems, nose masks, and other more useful stuff for the evo.

The raffle was pretty cool even though we didn't win anything...

They gave away a set hks cams/cam gears, 2 sets of tires, $1000 certificate to tire rack, 2 mountain bikes, aem intake, 2 fujita5 intakes, jdm jackets, and whatnot...

One thing that surprised the heck out of me was the lack of skanky "import models." It was something you could definitely call "family oriented."
