meh, the oc guys used to head out to irvine for shabu shabu and it wasnt expensive at all. the waitresses/owner hooked it up. we got lunch pricing everytime we went. $13/ person (tip included) wasnt bad at all. fkn memories...

thinly sliced beef or chicking with raw vegatables and noodles...they give you a pot of boiling water and have you make your own broth with the random japanese seasonings and the veggies. then you cook the meat and eat it with rice or the noodles. the place we went to didnt serve the noodles until after we ran out of meat...then they made kimchi fried rice. meh...

Its basically a japanese hotpot that you cook yourself at the table... Nothing too fancy, but fun with a group of friends.

Okay mizu 212 on sawtelle just up from the boba place a few blocks on the right side is decent. if you really want the bomb for Shabu=yoshi's shabu shabu on ventura, one block east of woodman- much better than anything else.

This food rocks if you do it right: super healthy and tasty...
