gee lets veto a bill on something that could help solve the deseases associate with old age, and be one of the next engines of the global economy. You know sine we dont like jobs, our population is getting younger, and the public doesnt support it....oh wait those assumptions are all wrong? well atleast the senator from a state that teaches creationism, and has called evolution just a theory supports it.

There are days I am ashamed to be a republican, this is one. I hate asenine party polotics, bush and his theocracy need to go bring back real republicans.

+1 (except that i'm not a republican)

It's seriously time to create a "moderate" party.

I vote we name it the "Humanist" party.

I completely agree with you...doesn't anyone find it odd that with all of the new techonology and medical advances, that a cure hasn't been found for anything since polio. All that is coming out is treatments, which means buko $ for the gov't and medical industry. They don't want to find cures because they would lose hundreds of millions of dollars each year, because prescriptions/treatments wouldn't be necessary.

exactly what george carlin says ....theres no money in a cure.

if they were to find a cure for these diseases (if they havent already) then the world population would be huge. i doubt the govt really wants that happening, imho. i guess its population control - too bad my dad was a part of that chunk RIP.

that sucks, stem cell research helped my friend live a little bit longer. unfortunately, hodgkin's disease won.

My GF does stem cell research and she thinks its silly that its not being funded by the government. She does say tha progress is being made its just really slow because all the funding is private. If money was put into this she feels that many of the medical problems we have today could be treated or cured.

more or less the money for "war" is already spent. we have the goods we just need to use it

This is why we need to find vast quantities of funding for space exploration as well. We really need to figure out how to get to other solar systems quickly & begin to colonize other planets...

Yea, Japan is planning to get on the moon in 2020, and a base in 2030.

China is planning on a moon landing by 2010 and a base by 2015. I believe they wanted a Mars base by 2030 if I remember right...

doesnt really matter, stem cells could be used to make the body immortal ...so you could just be hurling through space forever.

..to boldly go where no man has gone before.. lol

It's not a matter of probability. It's a matter of necessity.

We have to figure it out. Period.

And yes, it most definitely is possible.

I see
didnt think there was any probabilites ... but like you mention it comes down to being a necessity .. people will react differently about things
