I recently got an M-spec flash with a 2-step launch control and I will have the Dr. grey stage 1+ and I wanted to know what would be the best Rpm range for launching? Any advice would be appreciated THX!

Damn! That High? Do you just drop the clutch or do you slip it?

slip and then drop.. i've done _many_ drag launches.. 40k miles this way. i have no problems, but others might have another opinion. I can land 1.7/1.8 60fts all day.

Jesse aka "thugline" you need to stop doing shit to your car.. get your evo fix first like clutch and tranny and call Alfred at TT i'm pretty sure he'll give some source of discount when you mention my name. on the the other hand set your stationary Rev limit to 5600rpm.

There's no such thign as M-Flash, jesse bought the ECuFlash cable and now he's fcuking with it.

7100 RPM,

Restrictor pill Removed with a full clutch dump

1.472-1.55's at Irwindale, Cali Speed Way, Barona, Qualcom, And Perris

Preload the drivetrain at the light then dump away, the front tires will spin a bit but the rear will dead hook launching the car like there is tomorrow.

Enough To make 400HP and 400tq, KW variant 3's with "DRAG" valving and 11k springs, AP lower control arms and a "Drag Alignment"

I see... I guess I'll settle with my 1.8 on a practically stock setup...

What kind of clutch are you using?

My stock Clutch survived about 100 passes now i'm on a tilton Twin.

Cutting .3 seconds in the 60' is good for almost a a full second in the 1/4

I cut multiple High 1.5's and 1.6 on my stock clutch with a stock suspension.

Were all 100 passes on the stock clutch @ a 7100 stationary limit?

A bit OT: Can you describe preloading the drivetrain?

i started around 6500 then worked my way up till i got it where i wanted it. the key is not to slip the clutch, slipping creates heat and wears it out, but dumping it it transfers the shock into the tranny through the diffs and ino the tires making them spin slightly.

to preload you stage at the lights then engage the clutch just enough to roll foreward slightly then apply the brakes, this causes the gears and pinions to to "tighten" reducing the space between teeth and reducing the shock to the actual driveline parts.

BTW this was done on an 05 with an ACD.

No real worries of breaking anything, if all 4 tires dead hook the clutch will be the first to slip (no worse than slipping it at launch) and if your smart would let out of it

An adjusted clutch has done wonders for me when launching ... Engagement lower to the bottom, engagement is quick and fast - less slippnig ...
