Has anybody here been to one of these? What's the deal? Is a car without roll cage and fire extninguisher OK? What configuration and direction do they run, and is it always the same? How many cars might be expected to be there? Are there corner workers? Ambulance? Anything else I should know? Thanks.

It’s really great, I went couple of times.

Two run groups OPEN and Closed wheel. Last time I there remember less than 20 cars total. Whole day is $170-or $180 but if you go after 1:00 PM you only pay $100 and you get to go in every 20 minutes until 5:00 PM You get to sleep in the morning and still get more track time than usual.

Only need Helmet.

I am going with Dan on the 25th

Running 14 CW

Hope I see you there.

Jake -

Hope to sneak out of work on Aug. 25 and be there. It's gonna be about 100 degrees. Need to get a garage. Not free like Big Willow. On weekdays garages are $50 at Buttonwillow.

Does Dan know anything about tuning an Apexi AFC II? I want to lean my car out a bit. I am running hugely rich right now. Tuning on the track in the high heat would be the best way to do it, since it will be hot on the SoCal tracks until mid-Oct.

Hope to see you there. I know you don't roll out of bed until noon, but if I can make it, I will be there when they open the gates at 7:00 a.m. O0

You don't have to register just show and pay at the door when you sign your life away L.O.L

$175 whole date not recommended unless you want to leave by 1:00 PM OR if you bring to set of tires.

I prefer to sleep and be there around 12:30 and run from 1-5 p.m you still get over 2 hours of track time.

But I know this is not enough for you Richard.

Any way I am trying to get Scott to go to the track with us one day ant tune our cars at the track when it's over 100.

Hope I see you there.

Jake

Jake -

What would it take to get Scott to come out and tune us on the track?

Also, if you are going to run testing for 1/2 day, wouldn't it make more sense to run in the morning, before it gets so damned hot?

I always have 2 sets of RA-1s, and they sell them at the tire shop too. :-)

Do these test days ever get full. I would hate to drive all the way out there just to find out if I can run.

On August 25 at Buttonwillow (hot as hades) there is a snowball's chance in hell of a sellout.

For Scott 2-3 of us should do it, I will try to ask to come the 25th or to the OTR event on Sept.

Normally are less than 10 cars on a test date.

Last time was there was alone for long time at the end the few people that come leave after 2:00 P.M

Aug. 25 at Buttonwillow, or Aug. 27 at Streets of Willow (are you going?) Would be better for Scott to tune us. I want to be already tuned for the heat when I arrive for the OTR Big Willow event Sept. 9 & 10.

Buttonwillow is a better place to tune than SoW because it has more and longer straights. We are running 14a-CW whick includes the back straight. Thanks.

Change in plans. I will be at the open test day at Buttonwillow if I can get the day off work. I will not be at SoW Aug. 27, nor the OTR Big Willow event.

But I will be at Big Willow with SV Sept. 2 & 3.

I got the day off work Friday, so I will definitely be at the Buttonwillow open testing day.

Jake -

Have you gotten in touch with Scott? I'm PMed him and you. Thanks.

Event is tomorrow.Â* Accuweather says it will be 95 degrees, with "Real Feel" at 93 degrees.Â* That's really not bad for Buttonwillow in late August, which often reaches 110 degrees in the shade (what shade?).

If you can make it out, you will get silly track time.Â* I will be there all day Friday, and Jacob will be there in the afternoon.Â* I will have a garage (probably #4 or #5), so please stop by and share some of my rented shade, and we can get some EVO fun going on the track.Â* :mitsu:

One caveat, this is open test and tune. There won't be any driving instruction, so this event is not for newbies.
