NEED HELP FIRST STATE REFEREE TICKET EVER

alright so were at a usual spot were we chill on Fridays and everyone is already gone cus of cops so we go to eat at Grazianos but as my friends and I park in front the last of the people are headin out of the restaurant and they shut off the lights so we dont even bother goin in and here come some of Fontanas finest into the parking lot and tell 3 other cars that were just parked to leave and shine the bright white light at us and get out and tell us that he had already made his first warning and now we are tress passing so were like ok what the hell and hes like pop your hoods to me and one of my friends in an SRT 4. Well now my buddy and I have tickets and have to go to the state referee what the hell is that and where is it???? I dont even know what to do cause I got Cams Injectors Fuel Pump Rally Cat, TBE, MBC, Intake, BOV and an SAFC2 what the hell should I do now????? Please someone help me.

sorry to hear bout that.same thing happened to one of our members recently,do a search for the threads on that.basically everything aftermarket under the hood with no Carb Exempt sticker or proof of will have to go. State Ref will be checking everything.good luck bro. :mitsu:

well you can do that or just show up to court without getting it fixed and pay the full fine

you cant tbd that. You have no grounds for it. Either you pay the full fine or see the ref. Keep in mind that if you get nailed again they can take your car because your emission devices are modified

Adrian, U should just pay the $200 fee, so u won't have to see the state referee! Its better cuz its a lot cheaper than having all ur parts taken off and then put back on! Oh yea, and if u do go through the stat referee then ur going to have to go back to them specificaly to get ur smog checks! Shout out to Fontana's finest!!! :police:

Not sure, but thats what they told me. Once you've been to a ref then u have to keep going back for smog checks. Yea, maybe someone else could enlighten us on the subject.

you will pass smog with cams but you won't pass the functional test so you car has to be COMPLETLY stock unless it has a carb number

you will pass smog but you will fail the functional test.
there are three test at the state ref. visual, smog, and functional. in order to pass all three you must be completely stock

What the heck is functional? As in it works according to factory specs?

What if you leave your short shifter or shifter bushings in?

short shifter will be fine but yes factory specs from what i have heard the read your ecu to see if it varies from a normal stock evo

it is cheaper to just pay the fine and dont go to the referee. Because every smog check goes back to them and they run the full tests back on your car each time, so what i did was paid the fine, and my mom lives in oregon, I am in the military so i claim residence outside the military with her so I registered my car in oregon, and now i dont have smog laws up there, and technically i get away with it now. hrmm great how the law sometimes works for you?

If you have a PO box in Mammoth. You can claim your residence there and not have to smog. If you get popped down here, you can just say you are visiting family down in OC/LA/SD wherever the hell you are. Worth a shot.

well I went to court on tuesday and had to plead guilty and then the judge was nice enough to cut the fines by half so I only had to pay 250.00 for Modified Emissions and Modified Exhaust.
