So I don't like the blue middle part of the seats.Â* I was looking at buying like a fabric dye and doing it that way.Â* I was thinking it was going to be really hard to dye with liquid, so I was thinking of other options.Â*

Thats about when I heard of and saw the Dupli-Color Vinyl and Fabric spray paint.Â* It was in another thread I read a little about it and pm'd Creamo3(who had done this before) with some questions.Â* ie. Hows it holding up, does it rub off on clothes?Â* He said it holds up good, doesn't come off and that it justs feels stiff.Â*

So I tried it myself and I am happy..

I think this turned out so great.Â* It is stiff and kinda feels like a brillo pad, I hope that will go away.

Thanks for looking.

the dye does not rub off.

i've done this personally so i can address the questions.

a note on taping is to tape slightly over the edge and then wedge the tape in with a finger to get a really close edge.

paint in ALL DIRECTIONS, the textured surface is deceiving, you will pick it up later and notice blue hue from certain angles.

make sure to deform the edges later and check for blue spots that weren't sprayed. i used a cheapie paint brush and just dipped in in a puddle of sprayed dye and touched up all corner areas as well as the recaro stitching on the headrest.

HOW TO ruin your beautiful Recaros. They will feel like crap after you spray them. I sprayed my silver cloth speaker grills on my Yamaha surround sound system with that Duplicolor stuff. Looks great, as long as I don't have to touch them. I scraped my knuckles a bunch during the painting. The texture is horrible. But then again, they are your seats. :2funny:

it does feel rough, but it goes away after you use it for a while. as far as looks are concerned... there's no use in commenting, i've seen just as many omg that looks so great posts as omg that looks like ass posts.

its' almost instant actually... less than a minute. btw if you mind the rough texture you can go over it all wtih a stiff brush or just a stiff shirt or something. not a lot of people sit in my car so my shit is like sandpaper. but the area where my gf's butt is all the time, it's all soft and normal. since she's skinny though, the other areas of the seat are still pretty rough hahaha.
