this is used if you are flowing enough air and are under the proper conditions to go off the load scale on the evo 8 ecu. apparently going off the load axis causes all kinds of oddities to happen including VERY random timing retard events.

this is not a problem for safc users as the safc modifies the maf signal (a proponent in calculation of load) and therefore keeps everything in check)

in fact if you want to stay with piggybacks you'll never have to use this as you can always use larger injectors, scale the maf table and injector pulsewidth to stay within the factory load tables.

but if you want to use the stock ecu exclusively to tune, this modification is eventually necessary.
