Under Hood
Remove intake to gain access to wastegate and turbo compressor outlet.
1. remove all stock boost controller vacuum lines.
2. Cap off stock controller solenoid. Keep in plugged into he wiring or it will give a CEL.
3. Find a suitable place to mount the stepping motor. I mounted mine under the intake on the inner fender.
4. Run vacuum line from wastegate to "O" on stepping motor.
5. Run vacuum line from turbo compressor outlet to the "I" on stepping motor.
6. Run vacuum line from Intake Manifold pressure source to the "B" on the stepping motor. (I had to use a reducing adaptor to go from the 4mm vacuum line coming from the stepping motor to a 6mm line going to my vacuum distribution block.)
7. Run the 3 pin connector wire from the stepping motor into the cabin, to be conected to the control unit.
* I didn't use the vacuum filters. I have a good oil catch can set-up and didn't want to hassle with the filters.*

Sorry about quality on pic of wastegate/compressor outlet.
Be sure the lines are connected securely.
I used zip ties on all vacuum line connections.

I don't believe in Teeing off the BOV or Fuel pressure regulator vacuum souces. I made a vacuum distribution block from a fuel distribution block.
I tapped into the large 8mm line coming from the Intake going to the back of the intake. It's the biggest vacuum source coming off the intake. It goes to a check valve on the back of the intake, then into a solenoid.
I run my Boost gauge from the top of the block and the boost controller intake source from the right side of the "Y" outlets.
The left side of the "Y" and the opposite end are where I "tee'd" into the 8mm line.

I also don't like running things thru the firewall thru that small opening behind the glovebox.
I drilled a 1/2" hole just above the gas pedal and put a rubber gromet.
I run my boost gauge line, EGT sensor wire and HKS EVC stepping motor wire thru the hole.

I istalled the control unit in the glovebox. I mounted it with hook/pyle tape.
Connect the 3 pin wire from the stepping motor to the control unit.
Connect the 2 pin wire to the control unit. The other end of the 2 pin wire: connect black to a good ground source and the red wire to a 12 volt ignition source. I tapped into my turbo timer ignition wire. (no pics here).
Connect the 4 pin wire coming from the display unit to the control unit.
I ran all these wire behind the radio/ AC center console.

I made a removable mount for the display unit.
I took a small sheet of stainless steel.
I bent it, put 6mm vacuum hoses pieces on each end.
I stuck it in the ashtray.
I used hook/pyle tape to mount the display unit to the sheet metal.

Here's the back side of the display and sheet metal mounted in the ash tray.

Here it is mounted. Clean and completely removable.

Now you need to set it up.
If you got it used, re-set it.
Turn on ignition (don't start car).
Push and hold PWR/SEL button on control unit. It will shut off.
Push and hold it again, while holding it, flip switch on back of control unit from SW to PO (or PO to SW).
Let off PWR/SEL button.
Flip switch back to original position. It will beep
Turn ignition off and back on.
Turn the power back on by holding down the PWR/SEL button.
Now set the switch on the back to proper setting.
SW for internal wastegate, PO for external.
Now it's re-set.

Now you can set warning values.
Decide on a target boost for mode A and B.
I used 20.5 and 19 PSI (141kPa and 131kPa)
PSI X 6.895 = kPa
Press the MOD button 3 times. A "3" should display on top left.
Now add 10kPa (2psi) to those numbers (this will be your warning values).
Use SEL/"up" or SEL/"down" to enter the settings. Push PWR/SEL button on the control unit to toggle between the two modes (A or B).

Now set the boost for A and B. (done on control unit)
Set "A" boost. Push PWR/SEL to select the "A-volume". It will light up red.
press the knob, it will pop up. Turn it all the way counter clockwise. (you'll see the corresponding volume value on the display unit)
Now turn it clockwise. Start around a volume of 65.
You need to go out and drive the car.
In 3rd or 4th gear, do pulls from 2500rpms until you get max boost. A second boost gauge is better as the EVC reads a little low.
Now turn up the volume in small increments until you get to your goal boost setting. Once there, push the volume button back in. It's now set.
push the PWR/SEL button to toggle over to "B" and do the same thing.
Now your done.
You can reset the peak/hold function by pushingÂ* and holding in the SEL/"up" button on the display.
There are other things to set-up but I won't go into them here: Scramble boost, Lock code.
Happy boosting!! :headbang:
