Does anyone here know of any Indoor Karting tracks in the L.A. area besides Dromo 1 in the City of Orange?

And if you have tried this, what do you think?

K1 in Irvine. Electric karts and asphalt surface. I found it more fun than Dromo 1.

Shifter Karts > Indoor karts

I know, but this is just something I want to try on the spur of the moment. Jim Hall Karting school in Oxnard is full this weekend, and the course at Moran Raceway in Beaumont has space, but it will be like 110 degrees out there this weekend.

I'm going to try a real Karting school later. I think.

There's always Speedzone :2funny:

speezone is actually not too bad if you're teaching someone basic line philosophy. you can take the two person karts and point exactly where you want them to go.

Do you guys prefer K1 or Adam better? May head to either place tomorrow for some fun
Posted in the meeting forum, but not much reply. Hope this is a better place.

OK, I tried the 20 hp electric indoor Karts at K1. It was fun, but no substitute for road racing in an EVO. I also checked out the indoor gas kart racing at Dromo1 on my way home, but didn't run there. The kart have less hp, but I like the dromo track better.

Back to road racing soon I hope.

Hum, so no comments on the Adam kart track?

http://www.adamskarttrack.com

Someone told it was ghetto, but did not explain why. I think outdoor has the so call "feeling" for racing.

On their website, their information is limited. The pricing is not very clear (at least for a first timer like me). Not sure how many laps/time we get on the track. I assume probably around 15 mins.

So how about the EOC events? Are we going to have any coming up soon? Recently, the kart racing gets my interest and I want to get some experience on it.

adams is good... it's a very big track i imagine it larger than all the other tracks in socal besdies the ones at real race tracks. it's kinda geto, but that's typical desert crackhead stuff that trackwhores are used to.

the track is rouch in some areas but karting has been mentioned before to be a pretty physical sport. i know after my first time my arms were pretty tired from steering.

Pole Position in Corona is really cool karts get close to 45 miles an hour. I haven't been to Drommo 1 but I'm thinking of going Sunday am. It's soo much closer to me.

Richard,

If you really want a taste of Karting, you need to try a 125CC TAG KArt at a proper KArting track outside. It will feel MUCH faster than the Evo, trust me. IF fact you will not be able to get into full throttle and handle the Kart. It;s another world from the funkarts. No comparison. Like comparing a stock (not SM) Miata to your car. You should try it some time.

You should come do our school in 100cc sprints (quick enough for most people) or 125cc TAGs, you'd all have a blast.

Personally, I'd love it if we had a SoCalEvo karting group come run with us O0

You can do a 1 day sprint course for 350, the 2nd day for 385, or both together for 685.

The TAG class is 425, or you can do any of these combos (from the website):

TAG A & TAG-Lapping for $445
Day 1 & TAG A for $560
Day 1 & Day 2 & TAG A for $890
Day 1 & Day 2 & TAG A & TAG B for $1,085

Bit of an earfull I knowÂ* :D

for all those ppl who want to just jump into the TaG kart and be in the speedzone of 90mph as begainners?! All i can say is GOOD LUCk... I've done both dromo and k1, and personally I liked them both very much, for 20-25 bucks at Dromo, you get to 1st do a qualification, then will be lined up on a grid according to your best qualification lap, and then race to remain in 1st if you are 1st on grid. K1 on the other hand, you just get the luxury of doing about 12-14 laps. There will be no qualification lap for K1 which is the sucky part. Prices also starts at about 20 bucks per race, but get 3 races for 50. Track surface, I would have to say K1 is more realistic, but either way, these 2 indoor karting is far better than speedzone, it's more professionally organized. I recommend trying out this two places before heading to a karting school.
