thats my point... its impossible to say that religion is correct or incorrect for sure. if we adhere to the scientific method we dont try to prove things are correct we attempt to disprove them using observable studies... the only problem is that we cant observe many aspects of religion. there are too many unknowns and variables to make a definative case for religion or science. its all beliefs reguardless of if it is a belief in religion or science. since as of this point in time neither can explain everything either one of these beliefs are based of faith.

edit: religion is not responsible for war. people are. and i think it would be difficult to substantiate the claim that "[religion] causes more war than anything else" religion has also brought peace and prosperity. furthermore why does everyone say war is a bad thing? war has its upside as well.

ill give you the first one but the second point is a little more complicated than that. first it depends on what you mean by religion. when i say religion i mean the belief in god, and in the service or worship of god according to gods word (aka the bible or other religious text, whatever one may believe). however many people are religious in the sense that they perform religious acts (rituals) because people perscribed them despite lack of backing from the bible (hail marys, worship of saints, you get my drift). now according to most religions their sacred texts are infaillible so if a person truely believes in what they claim it negates the possibility that their texts are just made up by average joes because (in most cases) the justification is that god has used people to record his texts and being that god (again in most cases) is omnipotent this would make it true.

it is impossible to prove religion becuase it is circular logic to us (and according to religion the god, gods, or deity is at a higher level than us and can understand what we cant) for example if god exists and is all powerful he could create or allow scientific evidence to contradict his existance. thats the whole point of religion. that you must have faith.
