PS3 pre-order?

anyone know where i can get a ps3 pre-order? u know pay for it then wait till they come out and not have to wait in big huge lines? can i just go in a gamestop, eb games, etc and pre-order it?

I would bet most stores probably have huge pre-sale lists... For the 360, people had to buy a 360 plus software in a bundle to get the pre-order. I think the EB one was $1000!!

i suggest you wait till they work the bugs out, at least a couple of months.. with all the shit theyre putting into that thing im pretty sure something wont be working right

Yeah I am going to at least wait until March april before I grab mine... they should be a few lots in by that point. The first 2-3 lots of 360s were fukked.... overheating,blue screen of death.Shit like that. Never buy year 1 of car or video game systems.

From an inside source of G4tech said that ps3 has barely gone in production. So I doubt there is going to be pre-orders. It was announced on Attack of The Show.

info i got from some shops (gamestop and eb games) said that they don't know what the allocations will be to each company/store. the projected production was 3 million units in november and 3mill units before the end of the year world wide, but that may be cut in half. they said they are meeting with sony in october and will know how many units are available so they can start pre-orders, so check with some stores in october.

why would you want to pre-order?? wait until people start using it and reports all the bugs to Sony entertainment. Once all the bugs are fixed. Now you Can buy it. Unless you want the same shit happend to people like it did with the XBox 360. I'm pretty sure PS3 is alot better builded than the 360, but you'll never know.

i was @ gamespot 2 days ago and the guy said it's out in November and they are going to take pre-orders next month and it's $599.99 he told me to call and the end of this month to confirm the date for the pre-orders. Like Cspec stats maybe wait a bit for the bugs to get filtered out and maybe the price :roll:

i rememeber when the XBOX 360 was release. there was a long fucking camp out at Bestbuy in burbank waiting for it to be release. I would bet you those are the same nerds that are selling their XBOX 360 on ebay right now.

yea ps2 wasnt reading discs and even stopped working after a month or soo.. nintendo seems to be the only one with a good track record when releasing new systems.

599 is a good price specially for a HD player (read blue ray). Â* So anywhoot.. anyone have SFII on xbox live, Â*I hate the friggin controller, cant even get sho-ryu-ken to work correclty

it's about the Blu-ray laser having issues will delay the target release date. PS3 will play all your HD DVD movie "Blu-ray".

The PS2 supposedly had many problems when it first came out with the lazer, drive and many more. I actually got one of the first model ps2s (one walk in to toys-r-us accidentally during the release weekend and saw the last one there). It never had any problems whatsoever. I have faith that the ps3 will be good. Xbox 360 is a piece of crap. That is mine at least. Mine pooped out on me. I'm just too lazy to call Microsoft. This is the second time!

My friend works in the game industry. He was saying that the dev kits for the ps3 suck. They are always updating it even as short as a few weeks ago. The OS is unstable. All of this is probably common knowledge but its still a bad sign for something thats supposed to be out in a couple of months. For your personal ps3, i'd wait a bit. But i would buy and try to resell it for profit. Seems like a perfect situation for huge profits for those who can land a PS3 early.
