Hey everyone.Â* I know this is kind of short notice, but I was planning on driving up Mt. Palomar and then out to Julian this Saturday morning.Â* If anyone is interested in coming along, please let me know.Â* Nothing crazy, just a fun spirited drive with a couple stops to take pictures and what not.Â* No Takumi-wannabes please!Â* :crazy2:

I plan on leaving fairly early, probably sometime between 800A-830A.Â*

There's a gas station off Pala Road (Hwy 76) west of I-15. I will be there around 800A. Probably leave there by 830A.

This sounds fun. I think I'll go go if I can. Its a 90/10 chance though since I'm not sure if I want to sleep in or not, lol. Do you have the address of the gas station so I can mapquest it? I live in Escondido, and have been to Pala a few times. Is it the Mobil gas station right when you exit the freeway? And how far is the drive from Mt. Palomar to Julian? I've never driven there before :).

To be honest, it's been a while since I've gone out to Julian. Maybe 40 minutes from Mt. Palomar to Julian??

There's a couple of points where people can turn around and head back early if need be. Send me a PM or hit me up on AIM if you want to know the route.

Ok, I am gonna hit you up on aim :).

Anyone else up to go on Saturday? The route that's been planned out sounds really fun and it should be a blast to drive! I'm definately going and we plan on leaving the gas station at 8:30AM. It's the Mobil 1 gas station when you exit Pala Road.

Hahaha, that was me!!! My first time taking the car out around the canyon like that! I kind of underestimated my car thinking it wouldn't been able to handle it and spin out so I took it slower than you guys. I had a '05 Civic Si before this car and I always spun out trying to take corners spiritedly, so I'm still under that mentality :P. But I still ran the route back to the I-8. I didn't know you guys went left at the intersection to wait for me until I spoke with Equinox after I got home. I figured you guys would of pulled over to the shoulder and waited for me :(. I didn't know there was a parking lot left of the intersection. I went right instead and ran through Julian back to the I-8. Great run nonetheless! I still ran it pretty hard and grabbed some homemade pies when I was in Julian :D. Hope we can do it again sometime, and I'll try to keep up, lol.

I have no idea. I know you caught up to them, but maybe they saw you drive? They left an hour before you and if you caught up to them, then that's some helluva driving.
