Ok so I went to Cal Speedway drags on Saturday, and I was pretty disappointed in my performance. My Mods include-

Works Drop In Air Filter
Joe P. Manual Boost Controller
RNR Turboback Exhaust w/ Test Pipe
Tuning Technologies Tune
306WHP/292WTQ (91 Octane)
???WHP/???WTQ (100 Octane)

My best stock time was-
Stock-
60- 2.013
330- 5.695
1/8- 8.767
MPH- 82.46
1000- 11.442
1/4- 13.657
MPH- 102.37

Saturday w/ Mods-
Now (TBE, Filter, MBC, Tune, and 100oct)-
60- 1.826
330- 5.457
1/8- 8.547
MPH- 79.16
1000- 11.218
1/4- 13.432
MPH- 102.42

Now I know the power is there, it must be my driving/shifting. I am making peak power on 91 octane at 6900RPM, so that is where I was shifting, granted this is 91 octane, and so 100 octane could be different. Am I shifting to early, when tuned, can I shift at 7200RPM or 7300RPM? I noticed there were other EVO IXs there on saturday, with similiar modsn and tune running 12s. Where were you guys shifting at. I mean my only explanation I can think of is that I am shifting way to early and it is dropping my trap speeds, especially in the 1/8th. Please help :'(

i think you are shifting to early. it would be better to shift later even though your powerband drops because when you get into the next gear you'll be higher in your powerband. do you have your dyno? it would help show you where it would be "ideal" to shift

I have my dyno, but I have it on paper not on a computer, I'll see what I can do to try to get it posted online.

who tuned the car? did you up the boost or lean it out for the 100 octane?

that means he gained no power with mods 100 oct and a tune? he was trapping the same as stock. so he was either shifting outside of efficient power range or gained no power?

you want to shift later so that yur in your almost in your "peak power" when you grab yuor next gear.

look at your dyno, and see where your power starts to fall off, if it doesnt fall off at all shift just before red line and your times should drop

and if you were smart you would stay away from teh drad strip and go to a track day instead.... its way more fun

uhm... cutting off about 1000 rpms is not good. just cuz you're not making MORE power doesn't mean you're not accelerating. if you cut your car off at hte knees like that there is no surprise that your timeslips are so poor.

that's basically saying the 200+hp at 7k is doing nothing which is nothing further from the truth.

I think it may be the problems on start.
In drags race , the most difficult will be how to make a perfect start, The timing to hold and drop the clutch and the rmp to start is very important. You may want to focus on that. 4wd car can't do like a fd or ff car, you have to find the way to make you evo shoot.
A bad staring in drag race will make a big difference on time .
