My times today were not that impressive but it sure felt good smokin' every car i raced.
My dinner included: 06' STI , 2 05 STI's, SRT-4, Pissed off old skool Camaro, and a side of Tiburon.

I had a great time meeting a few DSM'ers and some Big Block peeps. I never realized how short the 1/8 mile really was until i came here. Check out these times... notice my weaksauce 60'

1st run
60' - 1.92
r/t - .806
mph - 86.42
1/8 - 8.747

2nd run
60' - 1.92
r/t - .978
mph - 89.09
1/8 -8.68

3rd run
60' - 1.88
r/t - .557
mph- 89.87
1/8 - 8.64

4th run
60' -1.95
r/t - .558
mph - 90.14
1/8- 8.68

What do you guys think of my mph v.s. elapsed time. It seem that my car start movin' up top with the 272's but not enough to show the gains it probably may of had in the 1/4. I guess im just gonna need more practice in the 60' area as you guys can see. Sooooooo if i could cut a better 60' 1.5-1.6 i could possibly have an Ass Kicken EVO.

There was a smooth silver evo with a silver VG running 8.40 1/8 but i never got a chance to meet the dude.

Were you on 91 oct or race gas?

Yeah...the trap speed is a bit higher than I expected with the 1/8 time...I ran an 8.54 with 84MPH...but then again, i could be off somewheres...

As for gas... I went out there with a little less than half a gallon of 91 + 3 gallons 100 = 95-96 rating. Boost was set @ 22 psi. These times did seem funny to me considering i had crappy et's but ok traps.

IMO..... the trap speeds at that track were not accurate in the past. I trapped at 96mph in 3rd gear there :?. They've supposedly fixed the timing there, but I haven't been back since.

My highest trap has been 82.xxand that was running an 8.6x. Dont think the system is right.

These runs were at Perris right?

thats right, it was at the perris track. Hopefully they get things calibrated next time because damn ,if this was correct, my car must have been haulin' ass...

what final gear was your run in?

For reference: At LACR I ran an 1/8 mile of 8.4 @ 88mph with a 1.6 60ft

I believe I was on top of third gear when passing the trap. Your time and mph at LACR is similar to mine down here except you got a kick ass 60'. What do you guys think of LACR's timing system?

the LACR timing system is good, but the track is shitty. anyway my best 1/8 @ LACR is 7.89 and 87.76 MPH. 1.75 60ft. ;)

I run 7.8-7.9 there @ 96mph

At Fontana 7.9 @ 86-87

Nice.... What a great timing system they have at perris. Looks like your ET's are dead on. Thats what i'll go by next time. JUST ET's

Try and make it out to fontana on 10/28. I'll be there along with the TT crew and C-spec , Rino , etc.

Yo fellaz, i went to LACR this past weekend and am still quite dissapointed. I didn't reach my target goal of 12.99, but i did launch better with consistent mid 1.7 60's still spinning the tires. I got about 10 runs which was well worth the $20 and my times throughout the day started from 13.7's on 91 oct and the 10th run with race gas @ 13.13 with some minor adjustments. I was adjusting my tune with positive results (car was still running extremely fat 10:2-10:9 with conservative timing peaking at 17-18* @ 21psi) until my laptop ran out of battery. The car was obviously liking a leaner mixture considering i picked up a 7mph difference between the original E-flash and my newly adjusted map. Here are a few of my times:

1st run

1.78 60'
8.70 1/8th
76.89 mph
13.68 1/4 ET
97.69 mph

6th run
1.76 60'
8.5 1/8th
78.70 mph
13.38 1/4 ET
98.70 mph

9th run
1.76 60'
8.42 1/8th
82.31 mph
13.21 1/4 ET
105.13 mph

final run
1.78 60'
8.37 1/8th
80.00 mph
13.13 1/4 ET
101.96 mph

The car liked the minor tweaks here and there, but next time im gonna fiddle with my cam gears. I have them currently set at +2,0 but im gonna try -4,-1.5 next time out. It sucks that I ran 13.1 @ 108 at fontana with my stock cams, i guess i gotta fine tune these bad boys a little bit more.

To bad your lap top ran out of juice. @ sea level you had a 12.74 @ 105.02 on last run

Yeah, i need to pick up a power inverter before my next outing, but realistically boost for boost shouldn't be that much different from LACR to Fontana. Everyone speaks a lot about elevation/altitude etc but that is more for N/A cars not turbo cars. All the motor cares about is whats in its cylinders and as long as you have stable boost, thats all that matters. When people say LACR is a slow track, i look more towards track preparation, the launchpad, and its current conditions. Fontana on the other hand is usually prepped very well with VHT unlike LACR.

Alltitude @ LACR sux0rz =\ And yes it affects turbo cars lol Air is thinner up there so the car struggles to gasp that air ... Plus your against the wind with a slight uphill .. sux0rz .. keep working on them numbers =\

rino is not coming. :'(

you know it. this time we should have in car cam. ;)

I don't know why people think it doesn't affect turbo cars up there? I have been drag racing since 94 with a nitrous car and two first gen DSM's from street legal at Pomona-LACR-Bakersfield-Las Vegas old strip and yeah it does make a difference.

I hoping your right though... When oct 28th comes, I hope I'll be able to cut a 12.9 at the least, but until then ...... its prep time. Do any of you guys got 272's set at a specific setting? mines are set up at 2+,0 and im looking for proof that the -4,-1.5 really works.

Evo8you

You will be good for high 12's. We should have alot of fun, see you there.

Try -2/-2 :)

SpoolinEVO
10-10-2006, 06:48 PM
I'll try that as well. Im hoping I can make it down to tuning technologies to get some of these problems sorted out and verified. Im hoping to at least break into the 110+ mph mark.

Hope it serves you well .. I have 280s but I heard -2/-2 for 272's are a good combination ...
