Hey Guys

I was wondering if the California Highway Patrol would ok this car as a "Custom Built Car". I have a place to Register the car without going to the DMV also smog check certificate.. I just need the " vehicle verification" done by the CHP.

Ive seen Skylines around CA so I guess an old evo would'nt be a problem. :-\ I dont know .

there are skylines that are here. i just met a guy who has a white R33 and he was recently at SOW. i didnt ask how he registered it though.

maybe you can get your evo passed as an old mirage O0

You can say it is a Mirage with an Eclipse Turbo motor out of a (your car's year +1) GS(X/T)

the DMV has all the VIN of all the cars that are legal in CA and that are built for CA/US. If you try to pass a vin and tell them its a fixed up mirage, the vin will come back and they will automatically know its not a US car. This is why you have to grab vin from a salvaged car and try to register it as being that car just rebuilt. You have a salvaged title.. but itll be registered.

Trust me.

Best to follow the letter of the Law so it can't come back and bite you.
