anyone figure out how to set mp3s as a ring tone? also i noticed that the playback volume is really low. anyway to raise the volume any higher? it already says 100% on the media player. the sound is lower than the volume of the ringtone when receiving a call so there has to be a way to make it louder...

I use Motorola Phone Tools to use my motorola phone as a modem. Not sure about the Q. Here is the link for it:

I had the Q through Verizon, it's a total POS compared to the DASH. While the Q is bad... it is not as dismal as a Treo, that is the biggest piece of dung ever created.

I had to get my razr fixed at the verizon store and when i was there i asked the tech about the motorola Q's. The tech said that the motorola Q is a piece of junk and most of them break on people. The tech also said that the motorola Q is the #1 phone that has to be fixed by them.

I have the Q but it's through Sprint. The only thing I don't like is that it freezes up on me when I press the answer button on an incoming call (1 out of 10 calls). And the volume on the vids is low too. Besides that I love it.

It basically has terrible call handling as opposed to the upgraded and modified Windows Mobile Smartphone that other smartphones run like the Dash.

I love mine. Does everything I can ask of it. I lets me make/take phone calls and it sends me my emails from my home email account.

i used to work for Verizon and now I work for cingular. the motorola Q is a more stable device while the treo 700 is not very stable and tends to freeze on a pretty constatant basis. I would definately get a Q over the 700W. The new 700WX is much more stable but I would still go with the Q because the windows mobile 5.0 for smartphones is a better operating system then the pro version. This is totally on a numbers opinion. i have had both devices while most people base their opinion based on personal experience. but then again to his and her their own

yea i had the Q just recently lost it, but i hated the lag on it and the battery life. It has froze on me about 3 times in 6 months.

im thinking of getting the new Blackberry 8830 through verizon.

as for mp3 ringtone, just upload onto your phone and it should be on the ringtone list.
